Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Ok boar dead with me at lv17. Was a scrappy battle mind but with a bigger health pool it was doable this time round.

I am really digging the battlefield er battles. I've done 2 so far to bring Phokis under Athens control and they were huge fun taking part in. The rewards are good too.

The main plot line also took a major twist too so I'm still in shock  So much going on so far that I can easily see it Origin levels of playtime (I reached 114hrs finishing it inc dlc)

I'd reckon the boar will be lv16 as well as enemies scale with you (up to a point, I think):p Just got back to Kephallonia and wolves were lv13. I'm playing on hard but I think it's the same on lower levels.

Yeah, upgrades are very expensive so I upgrade every few levels like in Origins but I don't know what I want to use yet:/ Most of my gear is usually a couple of levels behind.

Yeah once you outlimit the area. It seems the lower level areas will scale one level behind you. Means you will oulevel them, but only by a level, not the way it was it last game.

How is performance generally in this ?

I have a 4690k, 1080ti and play at 3440x1440

Is it on par with Origins or does it run better / worse ?

Slightly behind, but not massively so, can run pretty much most settings maxed bar volumetric clouds and another setting or two and maintain around 60-70 FPS with a 1080ti ( 2 GHz core and 12 Gbps on memory) at 3440 x 1440. Hardware unboxed did a good review on each setting so worth having a look and tweak accordingly.

What level was that legendary bow you got for killing the boar? killed it at level 13, quest was level 13 and bow was level 13. Trying to understand if the items you get also scale up as right now its costing soooooo much to upgrade legendary items, upgrading 6 pieces of Legendary armour from level 7 to Level 13 costs 13k Gold and over 1500 in material (metal, pelts and the other one) . May wait to level up before getting them if they also level up before turning in quests as its so expensive to keep up with legendary bits and upgrading them.

Thank you gents for the answers.

Ive caved in and bought this. I always do this though, think about it all week and weekend, only to buy it now when its Sunday and i have work tomorrow.

Nooo, don't upgrade your stuff - pointless when you'll be flooded with loads of items anyway. You'll be forever upgrading so save your money for buying materials from blacksmiths in order to upgrade your ship.

The legendary bow was Lv16 from the boar reward.

I've mostly finished Phokis at Lv19 now so I've decided to take a break for a little bit and jump on my canoe for some sea battles.

Count yourself lucky, I leave to work abroad for the next 3 weeks tomorrow, so tonight is my last night to play for a while

Yooooo, dude, spoilers, I know you're not giving much away but come on, we don't want to know there is a major plot twist...

Talking about spoilers...careful if you're looking for game info on YouTube. I was wanting to watch the intro sequence but watched the ending by mistake. The video was badly labelled, although lack of sleep likely played a role. Ah well.

No spoilers there tbh. A twist is part of every AC so I was waiting for one. Can't have a AC without a twist!

These are the worst. I've had to avoid YT now because my homepage is splattered with click bait videos.

Dont worry, I'm told there are like 8 different endings or something, no idea if thats true though

I really confused myself when I arrived at a new place, went to attack an outpost, then realised it was Spartan controlled. Then they attacked me...but I like the Spartans! Am I still meant to attack these places??? But then I weaken them? Conflicted...

Guess I will just enjoy mercenary life and go for the best rewards :D

I have one complaint so far, parry windows are HUGE. Just got to the first bounty, he was Lv5, I was 4. I took 1, maybe 2 hits the entire time? Parry, heavy attack and light attack. Rinse repeat.

Can anyone confirm if the fights get more complicated as the levels get higher?

EDIT: Further more, pretty much all of the ranged abilities are properly OP. I've not taken any of them but the abilities are a lot more... 'fantasy' than real lol. I may try a play through without taking any of them. And just keep the basic ones.

I never took the skill for controlling the arrow in Origins, my wife did and I just couldn't justify how easy it would be having it. Same goes for this game, I'll skip it. The other skill that stood out is the multi auto aim one... Surely aiming at 5 targets at the same time from stealth with 5 arrows instant kill is hugely OP.

Aside from the OP skills, I'm loving this :D
