Are microtransactions really that prevalent? There was no mention of them until like a week ago, and then everyone is talking about them and that the game is a grind because of them.
As others mentioned they are largely useless. Have done just a about a third of the map, no main quests (aside very first one to roll credits) hardly any of the side quests and just through largely exploring the question marks, taking on forts in said third of the map I am level 32. The resource packs are similarly useless, the price you pay for the 2000 Helix resource pack, you can get that much material in an hour or two of play. Similarly the weapons are somewhat useless as they are Legendary which means they are extremely expensive to upgrade and in the game Epic weapons which are easy to find in the world are actually better at times as you have more flexibility in engraving them.
TLR micro transactions are useless. The one that gives you a 50% boost may be nice on the surface, but in this game, everything levels up with you. So you may actually end up in a position where things like your ship has not been levelled up while enemies have and so on and so forth. Only nice one I can see is the 50% extra gold from all sources
