Cities Skylines 2 is Official!

Absolutely shocking year for gaming.
I mean, to be fair, with Baldurs Gate 3, Lords of the Fallen, Remnant 2, Returnal, System Shock, Dead Space, Res Evil 4 remake, Dead Island 2, Diablo 4 (for story playthrough), Dave the Diver, Sea of Stars, Hogwarts Legacy, Lies of P, Octopath 2, Jagged Alliance 3, Shadow Gambit, Atomic Heart, Age of Wonders 4, Darkest Dungeon 2 and Dungeons of Eternity on VR, I actually think its been a pretty good year :)

I finally got my key... Yes, key. Only 1 from pre-ordering the ultimate edition back in July.
Am I missing something? When redeeming my key is said it was the ultimate edition with (ROW) at the end... Steam shows I have 2 DLC, Landmark Buildings and San Francisco.

I hope I've got what I'm supposed to get. My key wasn't available on the site until after the game launched :(
My steam account shows san fran and buildings dlc but i had 3 keys to redeem and got 3 receipts from steam when i redeemed them. I think ROW stands for rest of world as in language packs. Might want to query if you have the pass/ordered the version with the pass as it sounds like you have the normal preorder key. How much did you pay?

Yeah, thats all the correct DLC for Ultimate.

Steam Reviews, yeah, not particularly surprised it got review bombed. Theres a lot of unhappy people who've pre-ordered and they've launched it when its not fit for purpose for a lot of people on mediocre hardware. They're pee'd off. If it had been delayed say 2mo and released in better form, im sure they'd have been fine with it, but everyone else being able to play it and having to wait for the same 2mo = toys out of the pram.
That said, i'd be joining them.

Might still be... im trying to make a really trashy grid layout just to build up some land and unlock stuff before bulldozering it down and starting proper, and ive spent so much time going back & forth trying to successfully make clean grids that arent missing chunks cos reasons. Its a nightmare.

These were each built manually, after giving up on the grid tool. All of them giving different results. Terrain is completely flattened beforehand.

I'll leave it for a while, shame as I was looking forward to this.

I'm sure a DLC/Asset Pack or a patch might improve things, still at least we were "warned" aye.

I'm in luck in this regard as I detest grid based cities so I dont use the grid tool :D , does sound like something easily fixed though

yeah, like I said, a shocking year for gaming..Out of all those you list maybe 2 or 3 at best half decent and that's a big old list there of what you think will make a point. Still, happy you'll play any old crap and think it's great. ;)

Hehe, I actually enjoyed every title on that list, except for Lies of P which I found a bit too hard for me but all the others I played and thoroughly enjoyed, which are the 2 or 3 that you rate as only half decent and all the rest not even half decent

BG3, Diablo 4 (just the story)

Anyway, back on point...uninstalled, just not playable at 4k, back to heavily modded CS1 or Anno 1800, just superior. I'll look back in a few months as I love the builder genre.

Yeah, this was supposed to get me through to something like milestone 3-4 and then rebuild something that wasnt fugly, however instead of progressing, im still trying to get 1 simple grid to work, but every single time something breaks it.

Fortunately you get a full refund for removing it, at least within the timeframe im dealing with (on pause) so its just costing me time.

So you thought that Remnant 2, Returnal, System Shock, Dead Space, Res Evil 4 remake, Dave the Diver, Sea of Stars, Octopath 2, Jagged Alliance 3, Shadow Gambit, Age of Wonders 4, Darkest Dungeon 2 and Dungeons of Eternity on VR were all not even half decent? That does surprise me, theres some very highly rated titles there.

I'm not a fan of remakes, not a fan of little indie developed games and the others that you list, meh, tried most of them but didn't do anything for me. We all can't like the same thing. Didn't play Darkest Dungeon, Dungeons Of Eternity or Shadow Gambit in all honesty.

Thats true, cant like all the same things, as I say, Lies of P was very highly rated but I didnt like it (due to difficulty for me) , so not surprised there would be some on that list that you didnt like, just surprised that there's so many on that list that you dont think are even half decent. I can understand why you feel the way you do about gaming if theres only 2 games in a calendar year that you think are even half decent. I'd probably give up on gaming and get a different hobby if I ever reached that stage in my gaming, hardly worth even having that rig in your sig considering how few games you think are half decent :D
