De-lidded 3770k!!

Its under there :D

As I used liquid metal, im not pulling it apart as its probably starting to set! Which is fine as im going to force myself not to get rid of this setup for a while!

should have took progress pics,n yh dont disturb it now,you wanna disturb the cpu as little as possible imo

what blade did you use? im finding it hard to choose

ohh and what temps before n after?

brian do you keep getting catalyst control centre stopping with your board? and internet explorer restarting?

What is internet explorer??

I have no problems at all with my board mate, you tried atiman uninstaller? I use google chrome, even though it might be evil.

OOoooo, F9 2012/10/24 Update CPU microcode! Downloading...

Main thing I don't like is that the glass on the die gets marked so easily, even by cotton buds. I really don't like that. :(

i have the MVG as well and i have no problems. have you updated the bios?

I'm on f9b beta BIOS,its annoying with the ccc keep stopping and sometimes ie9 needs to reload the page as it stops working just can't fathom what it is,I've reinstalled still the same, cpu is stable at 4.5ghz 1.188v

Oh wazza, what offset are you using? The chip might be stable at 4.5GHz but like my old 3570K it might need more offset voltage for idle? Try raising offset and lowering the LLC, worked for me. I have just C1E enabled, none of the others like EIST or C3/C6. Try the F9 final BIOS?

I do want to delid my new chip, but truth is I can't afford another one if it goes wrong, truth is I couldn't afford the replacement for the last one lol. :D

I'd leave it Brian,my temps are 72c at 4.5ghz so that's fine imo,I'm using high llc,ie9 works fine on my z68 board and ccc but this board its throwing a hissy fit

My 3570K crashes apps at 4.6 without high offset voltage on this board too. You just have to lower the LLC and raise offset imo, try it. :) My old chip needed +0.090V offset to be stable for league of legends and guild wars, it would crash minimizing when the cpu downclocked.

72C is the max temp on mine too, which is fine, and it never goes over 60 really gaming, only in Prime. :) Would love to go to the 5GHz club but I don't think my chip is up for that anyway.

I lowered my offset earlier and it crashed CCC when running prime95. :p

For whatever reason this chip won't run without PLL overvoltage on auto/enabled, no matter what PLL I choose though I suppose they are separate things, the PLL overvoltage is for something else. My old chip didn't need it, neither did this one at first lol. Not really bothered as I haven't seen anyone else disable it.

Wazza, on F9 can you use the ALT+F10? I can't, it just loads into windows, it's easy on F8 I just hold alt and push F10 and it does it, every time. F9, no luck.

i havent messed backing up bios ill try though, ive left cpu pll untouched too

changed from high llc and -0.010v to medium llc +0.010v = same load voltage but should allow cpu voltage to idle slightly higher,oh and f9 fixed my mouse in the bios, didnt work before
