Easyriders Cinema Room

yes,

Just took one pic of the Rears and my nikon D70 died.

Just gotta charge it for 15 mins to snap some shots!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you all will be pleasantly suprised!!!! :D

Just about to start my own garage conversion along similar lines. Out of interest how have you insulated the room?

Insulated plasterboard.

Rockwool

and 2"thick Polystyrene slabs for the flooring. Its in the thread somewhere in more detail:p

I've been scanning this thread this afternoon and I can't think of anywhere on the internet I'd rather have been :D . Sticky I say, but its not my call.

I've been meaning to ask where you got your Tannoys: I'm after some F1 Customs. I did add you on MSN, but seen as OCUK don't stock them perhaps you can just post it here (not sure of the ruling on that and I'm far too lazy to look it up).

Looking forward to more piccys!

Cheers dude.

The shop where I bought them is no longer selling them and they have gone up quite a bit in price!

I bought the F4's F1's and FC all for 249inc Brand new in box :)

They sound fantastic though and look the nuts!!!!:D

Ok Here are some Pics.

Waiting on a few Seats!!!!!

Also removed the foam from the F1's!

The canvesses on the walls are my own make shift sound panels and they work!

Really taken the live feel out the room.

Just need to polish stuff of now and get touch up here and there.

Just uploading projector pics...

About the screen

It was £1.89 :p

I'm enjoying it although I may go bigger in the future after watching some movies.

TBH its bigger in real life when sat watching a film....

It dwarfs the tele and its nice and tight image wise.:)

Been reading this thread with interest mate (and may i say it looks superb!), as someone who has been into projectors and fairly purpose built set-ups like this for a good few years i would have changed three things;

1) The screen needs an upgrade, you will want to do this anyway as time passes
2) The walls and ceiling should perhaps be darker, not hard to change at a later date though
3) The floor should be carpet, this creates a much better atmosphere all round, absorbs the sound better, feels warmer etc etc. This is more of a personal opinion rather than an actual improvement though.

Good work :)

Cheers Jez.

1: In Time
2: Was a compromise to get the space. Not a problem if I decide to change though as you say.
3:Laminate was used, again to secure the space. So a compromise. Carpet would have helped with the acoustics and saved me hassle with my panels. TBH I'm buying another rug to help things along.

:)

looks sweet!

have you got a sub?

Comes in a few days.

The Tannoys are sounding nice and rich

Went for the BK Gemini II due to : Cost and the fact its just been upgraded to a 10" woofer.

I don't want a domintaing SUB but an enhancement.

I'll see how I get on.:)

That's what I'm after when i'll be buying my sub. I've decided to wait a month or so as my MA's really pack a punch as they are. I know a sub will make the system sound even better but i've not had chance to research that field yet =)

If your Tannoys are sounding that good then you've got a cracking deal on them.

If you wouldn't mind, could you put some pics up of your seating arrangement when you get that finished?

Overall, you should be proud of that install. :)

The Tannoys sound Superb....Really impressed with them.

For 249 inc they begger belief!:D

Of course mate I'll post some more detailed pics of seating etc..

Just needed some up tonight as its been ages since pics...

Damn Hand!

Well done mate, it looks really good.

How's the sound? I suspect it's nice and crisp. Will be even better when you get that Gemini II hooked up.

Have you had an opening night yet?

Sounds really good. I'm getting back into CD's :p

Not yet,

Going to wait for my sub to be delivered.:)

Thanks :)

I will have pics of the seating when I have some in place.

Looking at a deal on two leather recliners now and a corner unit sofa

Thanks again for all the positive feedback. TBH until my sub comes I'll run Audyssey and tweak

My understanding was that the fronts should be directly at the outer edge of the screen.

But research and googling shows that its not all set in stone.

My view is that I will widen the two fronts to allow better stereo sepaeration when listing to music etc...

But some on the preset surround sound listening modes sound sooooooo good with the 876 :D

Think I will maybe bring them out wider..

This is a good link..

Ah its a door :o

Did you do all the work yourself, did you use a sparky at all?

Looks tops, whats the final cost?

Yes I did all the work myself and with my brother in law and Dad.

My brother in law is a sparky :)

I got a plasterer in who skimmed it all for 100 (friend of the family)

I'm still working it out.

I have a few more bits to finish,Get the sub delivered and then I will tot it up.

Building materials have been about £1000
