*** Elden Ring ***

Did anyone completely respec mid / late game? I’m thinking of changing my character; can always change it back again?
I did some rejigging to help with a fight that I still haven’t completed. :D

There is a resource (larval tear) that is consumed upon respec of your character. I think you can get around 5 per play through. As long as you have that you can continue to change your character stats to what ever you want. (Even going backing to a previous build if you remember your exact stat numbers)

I think the real limit is how many smithing stones you have since you can’t upgrade all your weapons to max level to match your new build.

Edit: instead of a guide Consider using a map site for Elden ring instead and just set it to site of grace only. They can also show you where you need to go and what you need to do to progress quest lines.

Good point on the smithing stones, I hadn’t considered that. I have the larval tears and as my two main weapons are upgraded with somber smithing stones hopefully I’ll have enough to bring another weapon up to spec.

Do you gain much from upgrading shields?

And you’re right on the map. I’m not using the guide as much now so just get pointed in the right direction

I don't use the shield so I'm not sure how useful it is to upgrade the shield.

From what I can see in the wikia, damage reduction doesn't change as you upgrade it, but the attack power of the shield does increase. Though I doubt that ir is important for the shield.

Upgrading the shield is worth it if you use it to attack and break opponents - it's awesome against armoured opponents like knights etc.

Yeah that’s what I figured with it not increasing damage reduction.

I really need to do a shield / weapon based build and learn to play that style

Still no Windows 11 Security fix then? - without disabling components etc., I've read the guides.

**** this *****!
**** this ***** and her ****ing waterfowl dance!

4 days of attempts it took me, and in the end I think it was down to the pure luck that she didn't do the dance during phase 2.
I'm glad it's over, not feeling much of a sense of accomplishment after this fight.

Yeah I need to go back and fight her. I had a 10+ hours in game (spread out over multiple months though) where I was just constantly battling her. Decided to go do other content and come back later. But that’s on pause now due to AC6.

Melania is a Ho. Spam Rivers of Blood corpse piler if you have a dex/arcane build. Or spam Eleonara's Poleblade twin handed (not as cheesey).

Though the ultimate weapon I found for her was Blasphemous Blade. The fire special wrecked her but you need plenty of stamina to keep those specials going.

I'm gonna be that guy, I was really shocked to down her on the first shot. And I'm not a good souls player, I'm ok. The wife was watching at the same time and was equally stunned.

Dex bleed build was and probably is so op against her.

Haha, think I got it after about 10 odd tries. I'm sure I went and grinded a few levels and started using pots etc for the first time. I Watched some videos too but it didn't help much. Summoned some people to help but they got obliterated or the boss would focus on me. Still, it was a damn pretty fight, I love the vfx on it.

Finished it.

Was quite glad to finish this to be honest, can't say the last series of bosses were much fun. Though I did enjoy Godfreys wrestling match.
Melenia was definitely my hardest fight.

Thinking about doing a caster run next.

Sekiro is a masterpiece.

Elden Ring is good, but Sekiro is better.
One of the advantages with having limited scope for player enhancements and options is that you can really hone and balance the combat of the game.

There’s a funny video on YouTube comparing Sekiro to the dance revolution games. You really would get into the rhythm of the game when you were in the zone.
