England Manager.

Scolari as England Manager is a terrific choice, idea and appointment. He has a world cup and european pedigree that is mouthwatering - Of the named candidates, he is the dream choice. Phil for England I say.

Of course hes a dream choice, ex brazil manager who won the world cup with them back in 2002. But the question is whether or not he can get England to play some beautiful football and whether or not he can handle the silly british media. What happens when he gets a few bad results with England, is everyone going to turn on him especially the british media who seem to be the worst offenders out there.

I dont know really, i like him...hes got a good track record and i would love to see him enjoy some success with England.

I'm pretty pleased with Scolari tbh. I'd rather see a really experienced international manager to take Rooney through the best years of his career than someone who's just going to get the team to lump the ball up towards him.

dont know much about scolari so what other things has he done other than with brazil and portugal ?

in all honesty winning a world cup with brazil isnt the worlds greatest achievement

He has won the south american version of the Champions League twice and also won many domestic championships / Cups along the way in Brazil.

To be fair to him, he won it with a fairly weak Brazil side.

He had Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, a old and fairly average Rivaldo, a past it Roberto Carlos and the ageless Cafu.

Other than than pie boy and jar jar, it wasnt a great side.

He is however a fairly boring manager, who changes his style even less than Sven.

Wasn't Scolari the one that had a major bust-up with Ronaldo and dropped him from the team? If he can do that, I imagine he's got the balls to drop our big names when they're not performing, and stand up to the media.

As for knowledge of the English game, well apparently he's a big fan of Brian Clough's Forest side, according to wikipedia. :o

Dont know if he had something with Ronaldo but he dropped Figo in the Euros against England which proved a bit of a masterstroke as the subs did the business and knocked England out. He will drop Beckham if he think he's playing rubbish, unlike sven.

Out of the candidates available he is the best choice without a doubt.
He has a proven international track record for starters.

Good for him he is not the first foreign manager unlike Sven.
Sven would always suffer from this, it was evident from the beginning.
To those from England who still say things like 'we dont think he is suitable as he is not from England' I can only say WAKE up and open your eyes.

Imagine how the city of London would look if big law firms and Investment banks would adhere to a similar policy;

'No we wont hire Jorge/Muhammed/Anders/Jacques even if he has an MBA from Harvard. They are not english'

Good thing about scolari is he isnt going to accept poor performance.

whoever is playing best will be in the england team.. not who is the most famous.

scolari will add more attacting style to our england setup, i think its a perfect choice for manager, out of all the candidates for the job, regardless of nationality, big phil is the best by a pip.. and the best should be given the job.
