Totally agree, but i don't think Carra was brought on to effect the last few minutes but to take a penalty. Now im a huge Liverpool fan and a huge Carra fan, but he would have been the last player i would have chosen to take a penalty (although he first one was decent enough).
Looking at it now the only reason i can think Sven took Walcott was to try and take some of the media away from Rooney, can't think if anything else; the only time you would take a player like that would be to bring on towards the end of matches and to hit teams on the break and that never happened
 
Squad selection and attempting to play Lampard, Gerrard and Beckham in midfield.

Definitely the raised hands escalated the Roony problem. Even if there's not a problem between RvN and Ronaldo at Man Utd. There'll definitely be one between anyone English and Ronaldo now :D

Fingers crossed Beckham announces his international retirement.
After watching Hargreaves play central midfield, not left wing, not right back, I can understand why Bayern appreciate him so much.

Wasn't a red card at all, every replay i've seen he was man handled to the ground and had his leg trapped by the other players legs. He merely was trying to get his foot out in anger and happened to stamp on his jeweles. Shame on the Portugese for doing it to him, hope it hurt him.

Rooney was right to push Ronaldo too, shouldn't be swinging your arms about in the refs face and getting him to send someone off when another person is talking to him.

You are joking about the first point??:eek:, red carded as he should have been originally as he lashed out a la Beckham style on that player. Yes hes fustrated but geez no need to go stamping on a players crown jewels so to speak :p. Sadly that ref was a tool though, should have been a straight red without any other player getting involved although i thought what Ronaldo did was bang out of order though...hope Rooney lamps him one proper when they go back to Man Utd:p.

As for your other points, i would have to agree. Lampard has been absolutely dismal to say the least...great player but didnt show up for any of the matches sadly.

What went wrong with England??, simple SVEN was the reason why they didnt play to their full potential...damn that fella plays some pretty boring football with his tactics. I just hope McClaren takes a hint and tries to get England playing some decent exciting football when he takes over.

rooney had an awful world cup and the sending off underlys his imaturity, bad temper and boosters his thug image...... will be intersting to see how the uk press deal with him.

However, I think the team played better with both beckham and rooney off the pitch..... though I cannot believe joe cole was subbed :confused: (he had a great world cup imo)

after that we were never going to win on penalties. The portugal keeper was far superior to robinson.

You know what? I don't have a clue WHY we lost, I think we deserved to snatch a goal.

There is some hope in Mclaren being coach though, he might have the guts to say no to playing Becks unlike Sven, Lennon is an absolute talent and needs to be showcased. Hopefully by Euro 2008 Walcott, Lennon etc will have proved themselves in the Premiership and be solid picks for the starting line up. Terry or Gerrard should be captain IMO as they actually shout and give encouragement to the players unlike David (Well he might but I never hear him)
