How do you get Swype on the phone??..i tried downloading the file from xda but my phone said not enough room:confused:...i havent got tons of apps installed on my Desire...anyhow i then found an apk file which downloaded to my phone but couldnt open it or install it...tried using ASTRO file manager but no go.

So if anyone has a version that actually works and also tells me how to get it working on my phone it would be mucho appreciated:).

I presume you have checked the Settings>Applications>Unknown Sources option?

All you have to do, is reboot your phone and swype will work along side pinch to zoom.
I work in IT support, a reboot is the first thing I tried :p

No joy however.

Check the space left on your mobile using Astro File Manager, perhaps you've filled the phone without realising?

Well the steps I followed are as follows. Install the application and then activate it in the android setting menu. Then long press an input field and select swype, then reboot.

It's working fine here for me with pinch zoom along side it.

anyone know of an app wherei can tether the 3g connection to make it into a wifi router.

ive just made a move to android OS. on windows mobile there was a wifi router app that utilised the 3g connection and gave off a wifi signal to connect to. got it from xda developers. is there something similar for android

As far as I know there is not a wireless one but the one I and many others use is called Pdanet.

You need to connect your phone via usb though.

Menu>Keyboards> Tick the Swype tick box

Find a text input box and long press on it, select input method then select Swype
