Factorio on steam

I love this game. 411 hours in and I've only launched three rockets.

Going for perfection in the timing for all modules on a vertical 'ribbon world' map.

I starting learning stuff with the circuit network, working on counting systems right now

Built 2 methods, the whole number value seen in the picture and also a 5 light system that lights up a set of 5 lights and also changes the colour of each light as it cycles states 0-5

Its worth every penny, I bought it before if came out on steam for 10€ but it's easily worth £15
I must have put over 200 hours into this, I'm on my 3rd game now but playing in peaceful mode so I cam concentrate on factory building & not have the biters attacking my factory every 5 minutes

So many people have said that, I think without realising that their opinion of the game is entirely subjective...

And besides, I've bought many very good games for £5. They were undoubtedly superb value for money.

But... remember how many great games are competing for your $ now. Why spend £15 and have the game sat in your "to do" list for 6 months, when you can wait 6 months and buy it for £5?

I don't think people should make statements like "it's worth £15" like it's some kind of indisputable, universal fact.

Anyway, this game is on my wishlist for a while, just waiting for it to hit £5 or less :p

Most early access games are just that. The devs making this are truly dedicated however and it's far from an early access game, despite the Steam category.

This could have been released 9 months ago and been considered superb. The amount of bugs are roughly zero and if you are into the whole 'management' min maxing sort of stuff then it's game of the year IMO.

I may be biased, 268 hours and counting so far from a £15 investment.... Indeed I have bought hundreds of games for more which have had less 'to do' in them.

That said, you will know from the demo whether it is worth your money, so why not give that a spin?

No Factorio sale

We state it on our steam page, but people are still asking about it so I want to state it officially. We don't plan any Factorio sale. I'm aware, that the sale can make a lot of money in a short period of time, but I believe that it is not worth it in the long run, and since we are not in financial pressure we can afford to think in the long run. We don't like sales for the same reason we don't like the 9.99 prices. We want to be honest with our customers. When it costs 20, we don't want to make it feel like 10 and something. The same is with the sale, as you are basically saying, that someone who doesn't want to waste his time by searching for sales or special offers has to pay more.

Yeh it's been in the list of top steam games for ages, can't see it coming down to be really cheap any time soon! Not played in a while but I've racked up 216 hours and still barely scratched the surface in how carried away I can get with all the circuits.

I picked this up earlier this week on recommendation from my brother. It feels a little overwhelming as most games like this do at first. However I am enjoying it and finding FFXV has fallen to the wayside.

No worries then, I won't play it! Like I said, there's so many titles competing for both my time and my money, that if a dev doesn't ever want to drop the asking price, then I'll never play their game.

No big deal, so many more games out there. And thanks to Steam et al, they all mostly do hit £5 at some point. Guess I'll take if off my wishlist.

I don't buy the "honesty" BS. If they wanted to be honest they should just say "we don't want to reduce the price". Nobody would hold it against them. It's their choice to choose the asking price and it's my choice not to buy.

Yeah but this is a crap argument. they feel their game is great and worth that price and good value. Now you are free to say well I cannot afford to buy it or I don't feel it is worth that price and will play something else.

But what they don't have to do is reduce the price because you want them too. I really really want a Ferrari but £125k new, way too much, drop it to £25k and I will buy one and because I want one they are ***** if they don't reduce the price and I am going to take my ball home and not play.

Really it makes you sounds like an entitled you know what. Just move on no need for the entitlement stuff.

After playing a few games of this, you really start getting to understand how to make things more efficient.

First few I had no end of problems with space and trying to get things to work. Started a new game yesterday, on peaceful and large starting area so I'm able to freely build.

Managed to get level 3 research automated with ease, really still need to figure out how the robots and stuff work though.

I've started a few game with a friend/s before, and we only ever seem to play one session and then that's it and next time we play we end up starting again :(

Looks like Settlers crossed with Railroad Tycoon to me. It does look good but would probably take up way too much of my time so won't get it

Picked this up on Saturday. On the back of the Steam reviews mostly, not often a game with over 1k reviews is over 90% positive.

Really difficult to put down, the desire to get out the next materials in the chain and tweak the flow so that it's efficient is huge.

Reminded me a lot of Big Pharma, but with more of what makes Big Pharma great, and less of what made it not so good.

Love it, 7 hours in (which considering I got it a couple of days ago is monumental) and can't wait for my next session. Only have to play for another 8 hours and I've hit my golden £1/hr ratio, I predict I'll be getting far more for my money that that ratio :)

A lot of people have that £1 to 1 hour ratio.
I personally don't like the idea as it might create a bias to keep playing.

Factorio though, brilliant fun. More than happy to have supported the dev.
Unknown hours in this one though.

Don't forget, you can grab a DRM-free version from the website if you've bought from steam.
