Games you're playing, and games...

Games I'm (supposedly!) on with at the moment include:-

PS4 - No Man's Sky, The Golf Club, Spelunky
3DS - Ocarina of Time (not touched this for weeks now)
iMac - Oolite when I'm not on No Man's Sky

Due to life and all that, I was out of the video gaming world from early 2017 until early this year - a three year break that seems to have reinvigorated my interest. Onward!

Just finished Killzone (PS3 version of PS2 game). Graphics look awful considering it came out around the same time as Half Life 2 although the characters' faces were pretty good. The gameplay was not bad, albeit very basic FPS. Some of the enemies were bullet sponges and I was only razzing through it on easy difficulty just to see the story play out.

Now starting Killzone 2 and it's eye popping the difference between the PS2 and PS3 tech.

Yea not quite how I remember Killzone 1 either, graphics have not aged well.

Thoroughly enjoyed playing through 2 and 3, some of my favourite games on PS. Killzone 3 still looks great and feels a lot smoother than 2.

I never finished it because it just dragged on too long

I would have liked to have finished it, but there is just too many issues with it. Think I am about 75% through, but I will probably just end up watching the last part of the game on Youtube to see how it ends.

I personally didn't have any issues that stopped me from progressing. The only odd one was when the monsters would attack enemy camps but not do any damage at all.

Just got part way through a mission that involves going into a cave to investigate for O'Brian. Then you get a radio call saying a horde is on the way in. It never spawned in so I couldn't carry on with the mission. Tried reloading the checkpoint and quiting to the main menu etc but still the same. Also had Deacon fall through the map outside the cave, and things like building interiors not loading properly so things just floating in mid air. Lots of other issues, but I don't have an hour to type them all out :D

Playing through RDR2 for the second time after getting it on release and trading it in due to frustrations with hdr and PS4 CB blurriness. Got further than got before. Combat is really poor and the game is far too easy (how many bullets does it take to kill you?) but the world R* created is undoubtedly excellent.

Playing Rage 2, it gets a lot of flack possibly because it had problems on release but the state of it right now is a lot of fun. Gunplay is extremely tight and satisfying as are the abilities.

It’s on sale on Xbox at the moment, also on Game Pass and is well worth a look imo.

I played through that on gamepass and found it throughly enjoyable.

I found it pretty tedious, but glad that I got to try it on game pass.

I just completed a play through of Windwaker HD and what a complete joy it was. The original was the first game I ever pre-ordered and paid for with my own pocket money I had saved up. If I said the whole thing wasn't a nostalgic trip I'd be lying.

I even got close to getting a bit teary during the final credit music.

What. A. Game. My favourite Zelda. Yes, even more than BoTW

Need it on the Switch. People would lap it up.

Agreed. I'd buy it again!

I have no idea why people at the time slated it and made fun of the cell-shaded graphics. Was always full of charm in my mind

It’s a shame that is was a rushed and unfinished game.

The first half was great and then you get onto the fetch quest padding to make up for the three cutdungeons, which was greatly improved at least with the HD version.

I've got it on my shelf still, if i'd known about their DLC system i'd have skipped it... so, is it worth purchasing? It's £15 right now which is more expensive than the main game!

Started a playthough of Nioh, had it in my library for ageeeees. Recently completed Ghost of Tushy and pleasantly surprised at how much I like it so far

Feels like something to get stuck into :D

Dark souls 3. After recently playing Bloodborne, I couldn't resist picking this up in a sale recently. I think I prefer the setting and story of Bloodborne but seem.to be enjoying this more.
