I think my wife has been praying for dry weather. She used to binge watching TV Saturday and Sundays mornings.I got an email yesterday to say the course was gonna be closed, they posted yesterday morning a shot with a lot of snow over the ground and then emailed everyone with bookings yesterday that it had thawed but the course was 'basically under water'...
Forecast for the next week or so looks reasonably nice though, fingers crossed March is a whole lot drier than February, that was just silly.
Spent a few hours re-gripping most of my clubs today. Spent a small fortune on AdoreGolfGrips website.
Driver and woods have MCC Teams Black/Gold
icrossover has Black/Baby blue/White
Irons have Black/Green/Gold
Wedges have Black/Dark blue/Gold
Putter still has the standard Super Stroke Pistola 1.0 TaylorMade grip.
I have a peculiar way of doing my tape, I play right handed but use 8 wraps on my right hand and 4 on my left using standard sized grips. I don't like the "tapered" feeling and prefer the uniformed feel.
Cant wait to get out Wednesday! Weathers supposed to be "okay" but who cares I need to get out!
Hybrid's are the way forwardHybrid being delivered today - had another swing of @Maccy 's Ping 4 hybrid last week - despite it being a regular shaft, it was ridiculously easy to hit. Potentially could replace the 2 iron in my bag, as I struggle for consistency with that.

Nah, Fairway Woods > Hybrids
Nah, Fairway Woods > Hybrids
Agree for the most part. I prefer a 5 wood in almost every instance you'd be using a hybrid except when it's out of the rough or it's too windy. I got rid of my 4 hybrid a few months ago but ironically it's the club I've wanted to use most in this weather. I love my 5 wood, but it balloons something rotten at times and I can't get it through the wind this time of year.
Yeah, that is the downside
Got both a 5 wood and a 3 hybrid in the bag, they kinda go similar distances (in spring/summer at least) but in different ways, the 5 wood carries a good 10+ yards more but doesn't roll as much, but like you say that higher ball flight into wind isn't pretty at times Of course if you're hitting downwind...
But at address and in general I much prefer the look and feel of a fairway wood, kinda wondering on a 7 wood even, especially as to how it would be out of the rough to potentially replace the hybrid.
I used to use them but they feel a bit spongy to me, I prefer the more taught feeling of the extra layers.Out of curiosity but have you looked at the GolfPride MCC+4 grips? Seems like they do something similar to what you're talking about with the extra tape/getting rid of the taper?
I've got them on my clubs, seem fine, admittedly I only went for them cause they had an Orange SKU
Start a convo with me@Maccy I need to ask a admin something, can I start a convo?, or how best to go about this?
(to do with golf btw).
Go out with 3 clubs and a putter and see how creative you can be. I generally score the same as playing with a full set.Did a lesson today, was awful. So less said about that the better. Hit some balls after and tried to just use fairway woods and long irons to learn a bit more about my gapping at that end of the bag.
I struggle with consistency on the 3w and I think I will drop it, same with 4i and 5i. I feel relatively comfortable with the 4w, 4hybrid and 7w. So I am potentially looking at another hybrid to fit in there somewhere.
Been going through TopTracer stats and I think this is roughly where my gapping is at the minute, Still working on consistency with these of course but flicking through the last two sessions this is my avg total distance for each club.Did a lesson today, was awful.
