Those AD333's should be noticeably better than the V300 soft's, they V300's are just about playable but borderline tbh :p

I play AD333 as my preferred general ball, I do like a TP5 but given cost differences the AD333 is a great ball imo :)
Went out for 9 last night, decided to give the AD333 a try - from the shots I hit the ball appeared to feel noticeably better and seemed to fly higher than the V300, don't think there was much difference in overall distance but the experience was better.

Down to 16.8 now.

Play Kinghorn and you'll find all mine in the bushes after yesterday's round...

Got my first handicap this morning which is 21.5. Was expecting it to be a lot higher considering my first 3 scorecards were a good round, an okay round, and an awful round.

Need to get booked in for another lesson to sort myself out - game just feels all over the place at the minute. Hopefully get it sorted out and see the handicap drop.

Your initial HI is based on your best of the three rounds minus two shots. It will progressively start to include more cards as you work your way up until you reach the point of having twenty cards, from which point onwards it's your best eight out of the last twenty rounds that count.

I'm seeing a big difference now I've got a few rounds in since my lesson a few weeks back, weight distribution is better, swing length is shorter and getting through the ball is easier now I've improved them. Still think I could strengthen my grip a little bit more and my angle of attack is still needing some work but trying to fix everything was too much so I've broken it down into stages. I'll probably start working on my angle of attack once my scoring stops improving as I think I'm still improving but occassionally get off balance or over swing.

Having access to my distances from Shot Scope definitely helps with club selection and think using technology is good for saving a few shots as well.

got out to play 18 holes this afternoon, lovely weather a little windy at times. Had an excellent front nine scoring 47, back nine back nine was glad the two hardest holes 12 and 13 didn’t ruin my score card like they can.
The last hole did…. Managed to find myself in the deep bunker to the side in front of the green. Took me 4 attempts to get out :( and when I finally got out out I put the ball on the opposite side of the green. Anyway the back 9 I score 57 and a grand total of 104 the quest to break 100 continues. Still my best score and over all a very positive round.

Went to my local golf guys (https://www.peak-performance-golf.co.uk/) to try the new Titleist GT drivers, as with all new tech, you wonder if the claims are real and the improvements can help you.
So the guys kindly booked me in and off I went.

I tried all new drivers in my same Velocore 6 Blue shaft. GT2, GT3, GT4. I hit over 90 golf balls and tried all settings possible to try and beat my current TSR3. And they couldn't come close.
Even falling some 15 to 20y shorter. And it didn't feel as HOT off the face as my TSR.

We also did a ball fitting as I brought a sleeve of the Taylormade TourResponse due to using one recently and loved the feel. Again, ProV1 had more short game spin and faster off the club face.

Glad my mind is at rest with the new tech and that I'm currently gaming the best driver for myself

Played a new course yesterday - Luton Hoo. Quite impressed! Nice fairways, greens were consistent - and no bunkers. VERY windy however, a fair few tee shots were into the wind. Tried to get creative with a few, low flighted 2 iron etc - but I discovered a strategy that works for me - tee it up a little higher and HIT IT ****ING HARD.

grip it and rip it - great when it works :)

Golf today was mediocre, think that's the word... :p

Some good bits, first ever back-to-back birdie I think but also a fair bit of bad to go with it. Started off the first round +13 through 5, then hit those birdies and did the last 13 holes in +11, so not terrible at all after the first 5.

Then in the roll-up had an annoying one on the first hole, pulled my first way left OB but my second should've been good but the fairway gremlins stole it. Get 2 shots on that hole as well so meh. Finished with another blob on 3, few lip outs, 14 points. Meh.

Mediocre.

Weather was lovely though :D

Finally got rid of my Mavrik driver which I hated with a passion a couple of weeks back.

Got a brand new Cobra Aerojet 9degree with a Kai’li white 60s which is a shaft I loved in my fitting at epgolfstudios.

After getting used to it, scored my new PB of 90 in tournament conditions. Also distance pb’s on every driving hole by north of 20yards compared to my mavrik setup.

For reference, one of our holes is a par4 424yards. Having a 150-160 yard shot in is much better than 180-190….

Best part, the cobra was only £229 at replay golf. After trade-in, 88 out of pocket.

Still got my Mavrik Max driver but it's definitely next on the list to replace :p

More I use it with launch monitors/learn about 'the right numbers' the more it becomes apparant it's not a great fit for me...

My attack angle is 0 or slightly down on my driver. With the Mavrik that generated spin in the 3,500 range. Now add a bit of a heel miss and goodbye distance.

I think I might be similar, not entirely sure I trust the R10 for attack angle as that says down but last time I was on the GC Quad it was 2-ish degrees up usually, but either way the result seems to be spin in the 3-4k range most of the time. Occasionally I'll get one showing ~1500 spin that goes way further just for the lols.

Wasn't fit for either the Driver or Woods/Hybrid, so plan next year if the wallet can stand it is to be fit for the new releases... Will try the 'old' stuff too but shinyness may win out, but for the current Driver + 2 woods + hybrid that's easily over £1k to spend if I replace it all

Depending on your delivery, being out to in will add spin as as well as hitting down and often anything closer to the heel. So you can def add a ton of driver spin with delivery as well.

Agreed, also an open face which along with the path are my two main focuses when it comes to improving my swing.

So it's not at all purely driver related obviously so no major rush to change but I'm pretty sure even when I improve my swing and get better numbers there then a properly fit driver will give better results

Couldn't hit an iron or a chip out there today! Frustrating as I'd spent a couple of hours at the range/practice bunker/putting green yesterday and bar my 7/6 irons was hitting it great.

Putting was the only respectable facit of my game and even there I missed one tap in. I put that one down to the greens maintenance which took place on Monday. Probably some sand between ball and putter face as I hadn't bothered to mark it.

Was the first time I've not had at least a shot on every hole, not sure how I feel about that one :p. 29pts was a real missed opportunity given the perfect conditions, barely a breath of wind to speak of. Looking down the leaderboards others did much better. 40pts leading the way in Div 1, 39pts in Div 2.

Any takers? The thought of taking the guess work out of putting is an attractive one but training to get the feel and all the practice to go with it..... not sure I have the discipline.

Playing for my club (Weymouth) today in the Dorset Shield. At home against Broadstone, should be a tough match. If we win this we will play a neutral course against another club in the semi finals.
