This mornings round characterised by real stupidity 
Started on the first where after an atrocious tee shot I wasn't able to hit my usual lay up. After punching one back onto the fairway from back of the tree in front of me I was a good ten yards back of where I would have like to been at a minimum for my third shot. I don't know why I didn't take my medicine but went for the green and came up short into the ditch that guards the front. Should have laid up and at worst got a point, two if I could have got up and down. Terrible three putt at the second hole for a point, a less bad but still dissapointing three put at the third for two points..... Thought things were picking up when I made three for 3 at the fourth but then some more errant shots had me scoring a total of 12 points for the front nine.
Back nine didn't start much better after I put my approach on ten into the water right of the green. Dropped and chipped to about 1ft. Thinking my round had gone already I went to tap it in with my wedge and missed
, an easy point lost. Lesson learned as I then started playing great, holing some putts and was sitting on 17 points after making a birdie on sixteen. Unfortunately blew up on seventeen, my nemesis, before adding two to my tally on eighteen. 31 pts total which could so easily have been 4/5 more were it not for my idiocy, which could have been enough to win the comp (35pts was leading at last count)!
