Hazro - Any Update?

OcUK website still showing stock for Hazro monitors. Still no stock is actually present.

OcUK are aware of this, but aren't doing anything about it

HI there

To clear up any confusion the Hazro 30" LCD is in stock guys!

They were sitting in quarantine to make sure there was no issues with the stock and to confirm if they were indeed a DELL panel or not.

Happy with results the stock was booked in this moring and all backorders shipped. They are indeed the same panel as found in the 3007WFP and as such the price makes them an absolute bargain.

As others have mentioned the 30" models don't appear to have any of the issues found in the older revisions of the 24/26" models so at this price makes these pretty much a bargain.

Thanks Gibbo :)

I just got my shipping confirmation.

Ok I've just received an email from Hazro telling me the cut off date for the firmware upgrade is this Friday (12th). That means your displays must reach them by Friday.

mrcrisp, apparently 26Wi were being recalled around October time but nobody told me! I haven't been able to send it off to them yet - but will have to this week. Apart from the banding everything is perfect, I hope it stays that way when I get it back.

Have Hazro made this information public? I've been wondering when they were going to update the HZ26Wi firmware.

I don't think they have made it public but according to the email, you only have until this Friday to get your screens in for firmware upgrade. I've been waiting too for an announcement by them to recall 26Wi. I guess they were snowed under with 24Wi upgrades at the time.

Do you know the difference between HZ26WBi and HZ26WSi? It's in the online form you have to fill in. It doesn't tell me on the sticker on the back!

Hurrah! My HZ30W has been finally dispatched

CLAIMED! :p

Welcome to the forums :)

Mine should arrive tomorrow as well. I'm just hoping that the panel is trouble-free (which sounds very likely as there are hardly any complaints about the 30"). Mainly I'm hoping for no dead pixels, or at least none in the central region of the screen where it's actually obvious.

Ones you`ve received your screen please if you can, give us the low down on how this screen looks in games as it has wide gamut, and how standard DVD and HD/Blu-Ray filims look up close.

WTF. Hazro told me they would contact me when they were ready to do the upgrade and they've since ignored my two further attempts to contact them.

I am writing this from a ferry that is about to land in Belfast as I am on a business trip. I do not get home until bloody Thursday night assuming nothing goes wrong.

Not pleased. Can someone post the number for Hazro again please?

im thinking about gettin the 30" with the sale this week.
but i have only got an old geforce 6800 and im not sure if it has a dual-link dvi output.
Can anybody comment on how it scales lower resolutions than 2560x1600? if i buy it now, it will be a few months before i can upgrade the pc as well so that i can run it native.
and if it would be necessary, will warranties be honored internationally? im from belgium, and i read earlier in the thread that somebody from outside the uk with the 24" had problems getting the warranty approved.

The monitor arrived about and hour ago, and I've been getting to grips with it.

First off, a problem: I can't seem to access resolutions higher than 1920*1200  Yes I have a dual-link DVI card (Asus GTX280), and I've tried both ports. Not sure what else I should try... Any suggestions welcomed!

First impressions are that the wide-gamut is not a problem; colours don't look "off" to me, but I haven't really given it a proper testing - I've been trying to get it into native res. Once I've got it set up I'll give it a proper going-over.

kwak - at 1920*1200 the screen is 'okay', but a bit blurry (as expected due to interpolation). I'm not sure I would want to run in 1920 res for extended periods. It looks okay in games, but is not ideal for desktop / text work.

Thanks! Mine is now sitting in front of me in it's box, sadly I can't use it till the 25th!

(Well maybe I'll have a peek)

Taken from the PDF manual;

When the HZ30W is connected to a PC, often the native resolution of the monitor [2560x1600] is
unavailable from the Windows Display Properties menu [usually in XP]. This is despite the graphics
card being able to support this and higher resolutions and being dual link compatible. If this is the
case, follow the procedures below before attempting to update firmware/hardware:
> Enter Display Properties from Control Panel
> Click on the Settings Tab
> Click on ‘Advanced’ in the bottom right hand section
> Click on the Monitor Tab
> Uncheck the option titled ‘Hide modes that this monitor cannot dispay’
> In the settings menu, the Screen Resolution slider should now enable a wider selection of resolutions

That sorted it, thanks bluewave :)

For those interested in this monitor, I'll give it a proper testing and write up my opinions this afternoon. I'm quite impressed so far though.

where can i find the online form? i've emailed support last night but no response from them yet.

hazro should make it public if there is a deadline, otherwise how will customers know?

Are there any drivers for the Hazro monitors? I've been looking but I haven't come across any...

The reason I ask is that there seem to be some odd issues relating to resolution. The native resolution of the monitor is recorded as 1280*800 in the nvidia control panel (when it is capable of double that). As a result (?) games don't recognise the panel as capable of handling 2560*1600 resolution. HL2, for example, won't even accept that resolution when forced. Every game I've tried seems to view 1920*1200 as the maximum resolution (and even windows XP needed to ignore the defaults to see the true native res, as bluewave pointed out above).

Have any other HZ30W owners found this? If so, what did you do to get around it, and if not, what OS are you using? I'll try installing some games in Vista to see if this gets around it at all.

The online form is here.

I've received confirmation of pickup tomorrow by FedEX.

They reply within 24hrs if you email them and not use the online contact form. My guess is they are working on an updated screen for the New Year and want to complete all current firmware upgrades before then. You still have time to register RMA (they must have it by Friday so latest pickup would be Thursday). Just remember to mark your screen so they don't get yours mixed up with anyone else's.

any chance we can start a new 30inch thread? i'd do it but wont be around for the next 2days or so....looking for 3 hz30ws so want to get feedback first
