Hazro - Any Update?

I'm probably too late to change my monitor, i tried to contact them when the 24" was updated...then all the horror stories started and i decided to leave it until they were sorted. Now i've had it for about 7 months and they'd probably laugh if i tried to change it.

Hazro confirmed collection on chosen date within the hour of me submitting the form (11pm). It must be automated or someone was working very late!

smilertoo, why don't you get the firmware upgraded for free. It will be the same as if you bought one now. But you are correct, they probably won't exchange your one for a new unit.

Just plugged the monitor in to check it's running OK;

Out of 4096000 pixels, there is only one stuck pixel (red). Having a go at fixing that now.

Screens looks absolutely beautiful at 2560x1600

I asked Hazro about this deadline and actually got a response at last.

They have said that there is no deadline to get the work done (well apart from the warranty period I suspect) but if you want your monitor back before the christmas holidays the deadline for collection is the 15th.

...there seem to be some odd issues relating to resolution. The native resolution of the monitor is recorded as 1280*800 in the nvidia control panel (when it is capable of double that). As a result (?) games don't recognise the panel as capable of handling 2560*1600 resolution.

Just to clear up this point:

It turns out that this problem can be removed by using the drivers for the Dell 3007 panel. Thanks for the suggestion gibbo :)

As far as I'm concerned that clears up the only downside that I saw with this screen. I'd recommend it to anyone now.

Hi all hazro picked up my monitor last week by fedex uk
all seemed fine untill today when i got a call from fedex, it seems that it is stuck in the international export hub!
I then call hazro- no answer
i then call OCUK and get given an address, which i give to fedex
i then call hazro and someone answers then puts the phone down
i call them again, he answers and is the service manager and gives me another address.
Thinking this is all a bit odd i call OCUK back and tell them, to which point they give me a 3rd address! i have a bit of a argument with them, they say they have no contact with hazro etc!
so i called hazro back and he is now going to sort it and send me an offical email telling me what is happening.
i just find it all abit odd how the number for hazro gets diverted to a mobile, and then an answer-phone!
anyway i will keep u posted
Ben

Hazro don't like people calling them. They prefer to call you (actually they prefer not to call anyone).

That is quite worrying indeed. My display got picked up from my house this morning en route to Hazro.

Are FedEx on holiday or something?

Yeah its very worrying!
I find the whole set-up very unprofessional, OCUK saying they have no contact with a supplier apart from thro email! Now im in the retail biz and i know all my suppliers and have numbers addresses telephone number etc.
anyway the guy from hazro Lutfi said he will sort it tomorrow.
Just FYI the correct address for firmware updates is
Unit 14B, Warwick Road, B'ham, B11 4QR.
and NOT the ones OCUK insist it is!
aparently i will get the display back 2m or monday
Fingers crossed.
and hats off to fedex who could have not bothered to open it to try and find out some info!
Ben

Well Fedex arrived today, well actually I'm quite worried as it was just some bloke in a white van who claimed to be from FedEx. I guess as a mainly business courier they don't do many collections from this part of the country (I'm in the valleys)

Hopefully Hazro can haz my monitor tomorrow. Wonder when I'll get it back. Having to work on my laptop is already annoying me and I'd kind of like to go back to GTA4 at some point.

FedEx usually outsource jobs to other firms when their own guys are too busy with work so it's all good. Mine was a white van too.

Mine is now on Brightness 50 and contrast on 6 (!).

It looks strange at first but use it for a day or two and you'll notice the brightness is no different to ambient light - so nice on the eyes. Also on the online LCD tests all black and white gradient tests are visible.

Calibration resolves colour accuracy too.

You should get an email from Hazro with tracking reference so you know where your monitor is at all times using the FedEx website.

I suspect the deadline that someone posted a few days ago panicked a lot of people and Hazro are going to be inundated with monitors now.

Hope it doesn't take too long as a result of this. Really don't like working on the company laptop :(

My tracking number says it's out on the van in Birmingham so that means that the white van man was genuine. Excellent.

Edit: Hazro have it now. Wonder how long they'll take.

I'm thinking of getting a Playstation 3 as a present for myself at Christmas and I was wondering if any other 24" owners have hooked one up to their Hazro?

If so, what are your thoughts and impressions?

Having owned the 24" for a good while I can report that I haven't currently experienced any problems that have already been discussed - will hooking the PS3 up, potentially raise any gremlins.

Thanks

Can anyone help me out here regarding a PS3 on a Hazro?

Cheers

My 24" Wi monitor is on its way too or already at the Hazro warehouse. I don't know. Haven't heard from them yet.
I sent it to the same address which is mentioned on the previous page.

Fyi, i am the person with the following problems:

Below is a fault description:

Firstly, when i opened the box:

- i noticed many fingerprints on the screen.
- there was no protection plastic in front of the display. (my first screen had this)
- I noticed the packaging of the DVI cable had been opened already and,
the dvi cable is different than my first screen.

This looks like the screen has been used before. But this is not all...

- There is a build failure. Please look for a photo here: http://img217.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img3152vy5.jpg
See the white? The OSD plate is attached wrongly on the screen. My first screen doesn't have this

- There are flashing green and blue horizontal lines when the background is dark! (very visible on dvi output
with supplied dvi cable. They also appear on hdmi output (with supplied cable) but much less)

- There is a noticable green push on this screen compared to my other screen. Same settings. Also the screen seems duller.

- It often happens the screen is completely white when i turn it on.
Sometimes i have to turn it off/on about six times before it works.

Just found another fault with the Hazro today, while it's away I temporarily hooked up a Dell 2707WFP just to see if it would make a difference to my multi-monitor problems and the answer is yes it cures them completely.

Basically under Vista 64 with my ATI card, my multi-monitor configuration is lost between reboots which is really annoying, my secondary monitor (a Samsung SyncMaster 152V analogue thingy) is disabled and cannot be re-enabled without first lowering the resolution of the Hazro to 1920x1080, then I can re-enable the SyncMaster and finally raise the resolution back to 1920x1200 and move the Syncmaster back to the left hand side where it belongs. This gets annoying after every bloody reboot.

With the Dell plugged in, the configuration is preserved after a reboot and I don't need to do anything of the sort.

My theory would be incorrect EDID information, I have noticed that from time to time both nVidia and ADI think the Hazro is a 1080p TV rather than a 1920x1200 monitor.

Can anyone confirm if the 2.1 firmware fixes this?
