Hazro - Any Update?

I have been sending e-mails to the [email protected] address and the webform for the past 6 - 7 months. In each mail i write i would like to order this bracket. I haven't got a single reply.

If they are back in stock this may , june i would like to know how i can order the bracket.

I also gave up long ago with Hazro's "support" for the VESA adapter plate.

I found this thread with the plans for a very well done homemade plate: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1322071&highlight=vesa+ds305&page=7 and used it to make my own (a bit rougher): http://picasaweb.google.com/ariess/HazroVESAAdaptorPlate

Total cost of the plate was about 35 quid + 8 hours of my and a friend's time, which isn't great but better than nothing!

I take it Hazro is no more, and even if they do release new refresh of there screens, most online retailers including OcUK will still probably won`t be stocking any of the future products because of poor support and bad company???

Hi Guys, first post for me. Call me crazy, but I've just bought myself a HZ26Wi, and am waiting for the delivery :)

I was just wondering - is the base black level better with firmware upgrades? I think I heard that they reduce the backlight brightness with the upgrade, which in turn will improve the darkest black. The firmware I'm getting is 1.3, but perhaps 2.1 rev is needed? Can I carry out the 2.1 upgrade myself?

Finally, in time, the black should improve since CFL bulbs deterioate thankfully over time in brightness in a log/power curve. Has anyone found that their continued use over the 26Wi monitor has improved the black level because of this?

Finally, is it possible to check fo myself what revision of the firmware I'm getting?

Black level certainly improves - least on my 24" it did, now I get 0.39cd/m2 as registered with the latest version of Lacie's BlueEye Pro software.

Hi there -

First post for me on here too. My Hazro HZ24Wi seems to have died, it just won't power up properly. It just seems to cycle on and off briefly. I suspect it might be the power brick as the LED on that flickers on/off at the same time - like it cannot supply enough juice to start the monitor any more. Has anyone else had this? I am wondering if I can source a new PSU from somewhere to check it out.

How is anyone getting warranty support on this Hazro stuff? Hazro site says to contact the retailer for RMA, but OCUK trying to send me to Hazro! I had a feeling this 3 year warranty was too go to be true :-(

The monitor was nice while it lasted, apart from the single green stuck pixel smack in the middle and green sparks & lines of course!

Cheers,
Bill

Sounds like you're getting the exact issue I had. Hazro ended up taking my whole monitor back to base, but it came back with just a new power supply.

You need to contact [email protected] or use their online webform and tell them your power supply has died. Make sure they just send you a new power supply and don't try to return your screen back to base; as the process took them nearly 7 weeks for me. Where as someone else who just had a power supply sent out only had to wait 3 days to get a new one.

mrk, do you mean improves over time, or with the firmware upgrade?

Apparently, standard CFL bulbs lose 30% of their brightness over 7 years, so that's pretty slow. Perhaps it's different for LCD CFLs though...

Well after the FW was upgraded the backlight on mine was less so indeed this helped but I calibrate every month almost and notice an improved black level each time.

Thanks go.mole for the advice, that does sound frustrating.

I tried their support email over 1 week ago with no luck so I just tried the web form, but I won't hold my breath. It's a shame that most likely for the sake of a power brick, this monitor is just now a very expensive paper weight :-(

Ah, good news twice. Was the firmware that helped the black v1.3 or a later version? I think the model I'm getting is 1.3 so I'm wondering if it may help to upgrade.

And finally, how long have you had the monitor for?
