Hazro - Any Update?

The screen went black because reset to defaults goes to VGA as the input. Press the input select button and it will go back to DVI.

2.1 is the latest yeah.

not sure if I do have the latest firmware, I'll check this thread to figure out where/how to update.

its currently on the 24/26Wi range and is rev2.1

I only have one dvi socket on my monitor.

i was refering to most cards nowadays having dual dvi inputs and the first dvi being less shielded than the second but seeing as you have a mac which i didnt know before hand i wasnt sure how many sockets you had on you graphics card...

now the screen is working properly I've noticed three lighter green/purple patches when the screen is showing a black background, as though there was a light at the back shining through. There's two small strips bottom right corner and a squarer area upper right. again, I'll search this thread but I'm not even sure it's anything to worry about too much.

could you take a photo of the screen?
so as to see what you mean as it may just be backlight bleeding through which you only see on black or dark backgrounds..very common nowadays unfortuantly.

if its bad enought you can RMA it to try another but its pot luck these days on gettng a screen without any dud pixels.

if its fine for normal use and the bleed isnt offputting id maybe keep it as its not got any dead pixels judging from your last post..

just read you post after this was typed....

the colour calibration is done from the graphics cards software driver in you operating system.
contrast
brightness..etc...

I figured that might be the issue but changing the input source is doing nothing. I've tried 3 or 4 times and it's the same; power comes on and i keep pressing the down arrow for about 8 seconds and as the monitor slides back into sleep mode. ??

try and do that tomorrow. But I think i can live with it, it's not too bad.

The mac calibration seems pretty basic and didn't make much difference. Maybe I need new software? tbh I've no experience of this level of work with monitors. I'm starting to realise why my 'out of the box and working fine' 20" apple cinema display was (relatively) expensive.

Press the Select button and the menu should appear to let you choose the input

Hrm, looks like Hazro is no longer in stock anywhere. Bit worrying. I assume my warranty won't mean jack if the company disappears.

They are still trading, they're just not doing speedy trading, they may be waiting for their new range to be finished before trying to push to get more resellers.

I'm eager to pick one of these up, but also happy if the wait means I get a relatively bug-free revision.

We'll see how it goes; so long as they don't turn their customers into a unofficial QA department again.

its very unlikely hazro will go under due to it being a korean company who mainly specialise in vid/monitors (for example life support) for both medical/military and science facilities/departments.

the public sector was just to see if they could make any money branching and trying new areas..... but i beleive and hope the slow down is due to the new line of screens which last year was reported as coming out in feb-may.

also anyone looking for hazro 30" use google search engine (am i allowed to mention google as i dont think its a competitor as wrote in forum rules? and its no longer being stocked so its not really harming the profits although if its against the forum rules i apologise)

thanks again for advice. finally managed to get the picture back - don't know why I couldn't reselect the input, and it might have just been my fingers lack of familiarity with the touch buttons :o

Someone suggested that switching to a VGA cable from DVI might help the problem i.e. the mac mini graphics card not supporting the higher res. Is that plausible?

And I'm having a lot of trouble getting a decent colour balance using the OSD and the mac monitor calibration software. Anyone suggest something more flexible.

And I now feel very much part of this slightly crazy, masochistic community :D I've already spent hours trying to work out this screen and I've shifted it upstairs and down a couple of times to try it on my mac pro. I've worried about it, read a hundred or so posts... And I don't want to lose my Hazro 'cos I really like it. hey ho.

I really do hope that thay are planning on releasing new screens this year that have more improvements+problems fixed than the previous screens because i'm very interested in a nice big 30 inch screen for gaming and films.

just a note about the last post...

the 30" hazros were problem free..(i have 2 which worked flawlessly).

All the reviews back up the case as it was just the 24/26 inc Wi versions that had problems and they used the H-IPS compared to the 30" Hazro which used the tried and tested S-IPS which was used and is the same as the Dell 3007 -HC 30" and HP LP3065 30" which funnily both cost nearly double the hazro price:D

Despite the problems, Im still tempted to get the 26". Just got a few questions for the folks with them.

Whats it like with PS3/X360 @ 720p/1080p over HDMI and does it do 1:1 pixel mapping?

Also, If i was to get one the main problems to look out for are backlight bleed, green snow, and of course dead pixels?
Cheers peeps.

just to let everyone know i contacted hazro on monday morning about one of my hazros that had started to play up on saturday and the technical "manager" for the 30" series contacted me back within 24hrs to discuss the fault and then collection and return.

he had told me the fault rate on the 30" screens was so low it was in the 0. % area so thats was good news, and i can be assured it was shear bad luck mine went faulty.

for those saying like go.mole it take over a month to get a reply i cant see how...not if i get a reply within 24hrs?

i used the online webnote and then copied what i wrote to an email for the support email shown earlier in this thread... anyone having problems try that.

so in my opinion i can only say after starting to believe everyone about their warranty/RMA and communication problems they are back on top.

Hazro = Fantastic Display and Peace of mind for a fast response if any Fault does happens.

Good news if their response times have got better! Sadly I only have my own personal experience to go on.

The whole process took 7 weeks for me. The first contact back from my initial email was 7 working days, the rest was waiting for the RMA to happen.

I hope you have your new screen soon :)

I think the reason it was taking months is at that time everyone was reporting the same fault at the same time, and Hazro don't even have a call centre.

Even if they did have a call centre, you would have been sat there for several hours listening to "your call is important to us" and "you are number 57 in the queue"

Ok, i just sent another message via webform and e-mail . For five months I have been trying to get the Hazro bracket to VESA mount my Hazro 24" WI on wall. But i don't get a single reply on my messages.

mrk - any chance you could help me calibrate my 26" hazro? I've not quite yet got it how I want it, I'm trying to get details to show properly without having it too bright/dark, for gaming/general use and the odd blu-ray.
