Hazro - Any Update?

Me too, on 1.0 firmware still-

Would green sparkliness be fixed by a firmware upgrade, or is that a hopeful-DVI-cable-upgrade thing?

The re call 9 months ago, when the firmware upgrades where being done also included an internal cable that was supposed to reduce the green sparklies. But was eventually put down to being caused by the graphics card, mainly ATI ones.
If I remember right, if you swap DVI ports on the card then this also helped.

Ah, thanks. Bugger for me, just had to (well, y'know) swap from Nvidia to ATI and the green sparklies have increased a hundred fold. So makes perfect sense. Maybe I'll try swapping DVI ports.

Thanks so much, both of you.

Just found though (having upgraded to yesterdays released Catalyst control) that they've changed the entire layout? =\ Crazy.

Lum: It helps, doesn't entirely eliminate the problem. :( Unfortunately watching videos in fullscreen atm and it's really quite prolific. And turning the option on turns Aero off, for some reason. Might be my fault, though.

Didn't turn Aero off for me (on Vista 64) but did cause issues with my multimonitor setup which is why I stopped using it.

What it does prove is that by reducing the frequency on the cable, it helps a bit, which shows that you're right on the borderline of what you can get away with, so a higher quality cable might help some more?

WoW - i still notice people talking about the green snow issue on hazros. it was confirmed a while back that the issue was not with the screens but more to do with a handful of graphics cards mainly the 4850/4870s. Unluckily for them, the launch of the 24" and 26" screens coincided with the launch of these graphics cards. I got a list of 3~4 cards a while back from hazro outlining cards we should stay away from (there were approx 5 cards listed in total) - we rolled out hazro screens here at work so needed the info.

Also, with the 30" (we have 8 in our studio - fab screen btw), running 2 monitors as a dual setup is almost impossible on some nVidia cards because of nvidia firmware. we were told to stay away from the 8800GTx. Saying that, the chap did tell us that swapping the primary/secondary displays over will resolves the issue. Luckily for hazro, i doubt anybody has a dual setup of 30" displays. Do they?

i do :) ...;)

bought them in the run up to christmas when they were flying off the shelves at ocuk at around £650.

and i run them on a sli 8800gt setup under visa x64 so they do work in extended desktop mode together

thought it was such a bargain had to get 2.

...........oh and i would have liked to have got wall mounts but it seem the back plates to attach to the wall mounts
is no longer available or made which really sucks oh and sadly also voids the warranty if stand is removed :( ............

for cable id go for for Plexus DVI-D Dual Link 2m or 3m..... nice and thick (shielded) and way better priced than belkin ones

plexus is priced at around £4.30 for 3m one

Hmm, doesn't look much better than the Hazro supplied one in the pictures? Marginally thicker but that one is dual-link so it has more wires to accomodate (The Hazro doesn't even support dual-link)

Did it actually fix the snow or blue-line issues for you?

Why does it void the warranty if the stand is removed
It tells you how to do this in the manual ( page 14 )

was told by the warranty department when i sent my screen in.

i asked the person dealing with my screen about the plate which i mentioned couple of pages back for janese :) (very mpatient person :S)

i was told they had stopped making them due to incompatabilities with certain mounts and that there would be a breach of warranty (issue/problem) if i were to remove the stand from the screen myself.

although if sent it to them to do it, that would be okay and the warranty would be ammended.

ask mrk as im sure he knows more since he dealt with them for a 24" screen plate whilst looking for desk mount which he got a gx ergotron when it came out over christmas.

I understand you're only saying what you was told. But why the hell would they tell you how to do it in the manual then state over the phone that it`d void the warranty if you did.....weird eh

hi m8 :0)

if i remember rightly i did see someone say a simular thing towards the beginning of this thread but i havent ot the time and patience to sieve through it now :D

but i do understand and agree with your argument as the manual states it in writing.

just to let you know mick-1965 the tech i spoke to was lutfur and i just had a quick look using the search facility....

if you go to post 743 somone else mentioned the breach of warranty which is said to be in the warranty/manual.pdf for hazro about only them removing the stand for you, so it sort of backs up what the tech was saying...

very weird tho not to be allowed to remove your own stand:D

oh and by the way mick can i ask how you found out about ocuk providing cover for 1st warranty which you mentioned in earlier post in june??.
i only ask as the screen im just getting back from being fixed which they had since may.
(2nd time really as they said there was nothing wrong but im not really sure they took it out the box so i sent it back as it didnt work still).
anyway in the end i was dealt with by harzo even thou i phoned ocuk and they sent me (via me emailing) to hazro who redirected me to ocuk who ultimately sent me back to hazro as ocuk didnt want anything to do with it even though it was bought from them last dec.

oh and i still dont understnd this onsite 1st year thing as i didnt think onsite was a courior stepping into your house picking up box and then bringing it back 2 months later :(

on a possitive note i wouldnt get rid of the screen as i love them dearly :P and as for communcation with hazro well its picked up as of late so has improved in leaps and bounds and lutfur one of the techys i usually talk to has always been most helpful whenever we spoke.

OCUK, said they would provide support for the first year was posted a couple of posts before mine.
But thinking about it, its law anyway. Although I did get another email after I complained about it being two weeks over, offering to help.Day before I got the reply from Hazro.
So good ole OCUK perhaps would have come to the rescue any way.
I like my screen too, just un nerving with all the bad things people are saying on the forums.
I'm not complaining now, especially after they changed my 24 for a 26 I was quite chuffed to say the least :)

i found out today what cable hazro use to test their 30" screens if anyones interested its a belkin cable called

Belkin PureAV Blue-Series DVI Dual-Link Cable comes in 2 sizes from what i have found 1.8m and 3.6m

tech features..

Digital Visual Interface (DVI) Dual-Link provides the brightest, most accurate colours and sharpest detail by transferring data in pure digital form to deliver true high-definition, all-digital video. To obtain the highest possible resolution from DVI technology, a dual-link, 24-pin connection is required. Dual-link provides the convenience of backward-compatibility with AV hardware that is single-link-enabled only.

PureAV HDMI-to-DVI and DVI Dual-Link Cables deliver superior-quality, all-digital, high-definition video. They use silver-plated conductors, five-layer shielding, and precision-formulated dielectric material to ensure a sharp, detailed, vibrant picture.

Main Features:

* 99.99% oxygen-free, solid-copper conductors and high-purity, silver solder joints drastically reduce signal distortion for unrivaled video clarity
* Silver-plated conductors deliver best high-frequency response for optimal resolution
* Five-layer shielding isolates from outside noise for superior clarity
* Precision-formulated, polyethylene dielectric material maintains stronger signals that yield superior video accuracy
* Impedance-matched construction reduces loss and increases bandwidth
* Ferrite inductor block protects against unwanted interference
* Integrated strain relief protects against wire damage for consistently high-quality video
* Abrasion-resistant, flexible PVC jacket maintains integrity, even when bent
* 24k gold-plated connectors create precise contact for low loss
* Non-slip rubber grip and integrated colour-coding provide comfort and ease of install

Manufactuer's Warranty: Belkin Lifetime Warranty

search on google and youll find 3.6m for less than a £10...ignore the places selling above £20-50 as they can be found for under £10.

suppose these must be some of the highest grade iv seen unless someone else can better it :D

I use Belkin's PureAV silver-series cables, they look a little more flash than the blue-series and are even higher grade.

I use a DVI dual-link cable to connect to my LP2475w monitor on my main pc and use a HDMI-to-DVI to connect my HTPC to my big Sony TV.

I picked mine up 2nd hand from an auction site for peanuts, you get a lot of cable for your money! quality is equal to any high end DVI to HDMI cable I have seen or used.

As far as performance goes there is no noticeable difference to the dell or HP dvi cables I got free with my previous and current monitors, if your standard dvi cable is decent quality your are unlikely to notice a difference with digital signals.
Although its a good idea to use a dual-link dvi cable if you use a big monitor like the hazro 30" screen as the high native res of 2560x1600 is fully supported with dual link cables such as the Belkin PureAV cables.
