Hazro - Any Update?

Thanx for pictures and mini review Dying to get my hands on this monitor.

Still don't undertand all the fuss about the 1:1 pixel mapping. Why don't you just use your graphic card ? You can pixel map any resolution with 2 clicks.

And yes I have tested it with both Nvidia and ATI. Works like a charm..

You cant set your graphics card to 1:1 pixel mapping when installing/compiling Gentoo Linux and other things out of the windows environment etc....

22" crt here, 90w to 110w iirc depending on what is being displayed, as I enjoy sitting in the dark I save another 60w or so on lighting :)

This does look to be a beautiful monitor, free of the viewing angle shift of the 2408 that made my eyes go funny but I'm still concerned about the black level. The best I've seen from an lcd is around 0.15 cd/m2, my gut feeling is that I need a factor of ten improvement on this figure :(

If anyone is interested you can simulate the effect of input lag in games by writing a small script for the Logitech G15 keyboard if you have one. I was certainly able to get close to the 2408 a00 feel (60ms). I'll post a new thread if anyone wants to give it a try.

Not funny. At all. Basically a copy from what I just sent to Hazro:

I woke up this morning, turned it on and moved the mouse to get it out of standby and the whole screen was tinted yellow! I tried wiggling the DVI cable in case it was loose, and it did absolutely nothing. I then turned the screen off and on again, and there were green flickering lines EVERYWHERE, as well as a lot of blue flashing pixels. I didn't manage to get a picture, unfortunately, but I have restarted and it slowly cleared itself up. It was still doing it for a few minutes really badly, then it sort of flickered between a normal picture and all these green lines, and now it seems to be OK.

*sigh*

Another stuck pixel has developed

One a day sounds like multi vitamins, this rate it`ll be going back by the end of the week.

Sorry to hear this guys :(

I don't like this development either

And true to form I now have 3.

@ builder22 Other than the Vista DPMS issue I never had any problem, bad pixels at all with the W version.
Other than the stuck/ bad pixels I`m liking the PQ of this Wi version more each day. It truly is a step up from the W version

A pixel a day... oh dear! Well, if it continues for another 2 days you'll end up with 5, and that means warranty :)

I turned mine on this morning and moved the mouse to wake it up from standby... yellow tint again. I had to turn it off / on a few times to get it back to normal. No insane flickering green lines / pixels all over the screen that time mind.

I guess I am also the only one not to be keen on this new glossy panel so far then  When the monitor is off, it is nice to look at. But that's about as far as it goes for me so far. Reflections are still really off-putting, and viewing angles on darker pictures / scenes now seem to completely suck. The picture turns very.... washed out. I think I would actually prefer the slight purple tinting :( edit - mind you, this new panel has fixed the ghosting issues and motion looks smoother. Always with the trade off's eh!

That sucks even more to be honest. I'd say stuck red / green / blue are more annoying than stuck white, so I would have thought it'd be the other way around!

I think I may actually be getting a refund and going for a Dell 24**, or maybe even 27** after this has happened, coupled with my annoyance at the glossy screen. At least I know the Dell is guaranteed to have zero bright pixel faults, 3 year warranty (all of it being next day exchange I think?).

I'll just have to live with the black crush effect really. But then I think I would prefer that over seeing my reflection merged in with images, and darker images now being washed out at moderate viewing angles.

Oh! Are you using the supplied DVI cable? I had the exact same issue (lines were smaller though) and cured it completely by using another DVI cable, the one that came with the old revision no less.

I have now seen a 26" and 28" and they are HUGE! seriously huge. I now have the extra funding "if" I were to sell the Hazro 24" but do I or don't I that is the ultimate question!

ARGH!

Yep. Have already tried another cable. No go.

Today I also spent a good 15 minutes trying to get the damn thing to even show a picture. When it did, it was tinted yellow at the very least. Even tried analog, still yellow tinted. Thus, i'm completely fed up :)

Unlucky mate :(

My credit card finger is hovering over this screen:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-016-NE&tool=3

I know for a fact the 24" I have will sell within moments should I decide to take the plunge on the NEC I just need to weigh in my options here, what do I gain and what do I lose changing to the NEC:

Gain:
- 2 more inches of screen size
- Onboard LUT for better colour calibration
- Better adjustable stand
- Full 1:1 mapping modes

Lose:
- Uniqueness of the Hazro aluminum case
- Wow factor (it looks amazing and people go wow every time)
- The clarity of the glossy panel though the clarity of the NEC should be better I’d imagine :p
- Almost £250 difference depending on how much the Hazro sells for!
- HDMI connectivity so can't use the screen for external non DVI sources down the line without a HDMI<>DVI adapter

I don't want to go away from the Hazro though but at *** same time want that NEC !!

**edit

no sod it, I'm going to keep the Hazro as it is too good for the hassle of selling it and getting the NEC at more cost especially the non"i" price I paid!
