Hazro - Any Update?

No, that's useful ta. Means it might be down to the gfx card, which I'm hoping to replace anyway.

I'll try swapping the dvi connections over first though - wouldn't be the first card to have trouble with the DPMS on one of the two outputs...

Found the manual. Nothing inparticular said about PIP
What ive found if I force the main input to video then the PIP default input is no longer video and and you can cycle through the inputs fine.
Looks like another bug in the menu :(

How many of these have ocuk sold in the last few days? Would be interesting to get some sort of idea of what percentage of people are entirely happy with their monitor. As always, most of the people posting here are having problems and there are only about 4 or so people commenting on their own monitors which is a very poor representation really.

I think maybe that's the expected behaviour. ISTR reading somewhere (above?) that Hazro are using the same display controller as Dell, and IIRC Dell use Genesis devices. Looks like they only have one device that matches the spec for this monitor; the HDCP-FLI5962.

The product brief on their website states "Variable PIP window size up to 640x480" and "Video PIP on Graphics /Graphics PIP on Video", which would seem to match the OSD menu options...

Oh, hang on, I might have that wrong - there are some more monitor driver chips listed in with the flat panel tv controllers. eg FLI8548H could be what Dell are using for the 2408WFP. It has more flexible PIP options (and PBP), and audio stuff too. If that's what's Hazro have used as well you might be right Mick.

Hmm, are these likely to have field-upgradable firmware...? :(

Hi all, my first post here, i received my hz24wi today. Overall it's an excellent monitor, really sharp image and good colours. Compared to the digimate 24" i tried first (AMVA panel) the image quality is amazing, virtually as good as my old NEC diamondtron CRT.

myshkinbob: Would like to ask you a question as I see you too have owned the digimate 24". I sold mine after a week because it's brightness burned out my eyes.

Now I read about possible trouble with the hz24wi brightness. Is the Hazro equally bright ?

Damn I wish this board had possiblity for PM's

I noticed it to be very bright out the box, although ive turned the brightness and contrast down and the picture still looks ok to me
still not sure if it's worth the money though...

As I say if you can force the monitor not to start at "Video" for the input source you can cycle through all the other available inputs, HDMI,Component,Digital, and Anologue like you ort to be able.

As for the banding with CheckeMON color spectrum its deffinately a calibration problem.
Ive managed to get rid of of them completely by adjusting a few settings in the menu.
Brightness 50, contrast 47
color temp set to user Red 72 Green 66 Blue 75.
Whether they`ll work for anybody else and how accurate the colour is, god only knows... well a spyder would too I spose and I also think if you want the best out of this monitor it needs calibrating with propper kit.

I have absolutely zero banding on my 26Wi and have not adjusted any of the settings so far. At default I am very happy with mine. I'll probably fine tune things in time though, maybe buy a callibration tool.

I'm tempted to get the 26 because it isn't glossy but I keep hearing bad things about the wide gamut. I have no intention of buying any calibration stuff as all I want this monitor for is games and videos.

Is it enough of a problem to just get the 24 instead?

mrk....or any others who may know the answer!
I had green flashing lines on the screen yesterday, switched the monitor off and back on and they were gone
they came back again today, so I ran the dead pixel test (full screen single colour), when displaying the full screen of colour the lines were not there, but when returning to the desktop the lines were there, switched off the monitor and they were gone again
does this still sound like a problem with the cable?
I may buy another to try it but tbh wouldv'e hoped the cable supplied would be of good enough quality

no issues apart from this....couldn't get 1080p to work with my ps3 using a 10m hdmi cable, but works fine with a shorter cable so I'm putting thaqt down to the cable being poor quality/not supporting 1080p

edit...these lines appeared again....this time they showed up on the dead pixel test screens, on the white and blue colours

ooh, didn't try that, will give it a quick go now, hang on.
edit: nope, that worked fine as well, sorry!

I swapped the two monitors over so that the Hazro is monitor 2 and it now all works as expected. Must be something dodgy about the first output on a 7300GT...

The 24 Wi.....I dont have any banding in apps and games its just the colour spectrum on ChekeMON http://www.ykwong.com/checkemon.html
Looks like the 26Wi is well calibrated out of the box then :)
