Hazro - Any Update?

Little annoyed that they couldn't have responded about a firmware update earlier this week. A few of us had only 7 days to decide what to do with no news that the problem was even being looked into, leaving little choice but to return the monitor.

Otherwise it was a really great display that i was happy with, and if i'd known they'd even acknowledged the banding issue, i would've kept it.

I'm going to keep an eye on this thread and see if the update does correct the issue, in which case i'll probably order another 24wi (it's the best 24" sRGB screen that i know about). I might also invest in shares in the courier business, after the amount of postage i'll have paid!

Just keeo subbed to this thread Bob \m/

Mick yep, all else on default.

I'm installing Vista64bit tomorrow so will see if 64bit has any calibration differences.

ok i am not happy

why is oc still selling this monitor when the gradient banding is really really bad? I am also really annoyed that it took 3 days to validate my forum account so i could warn other people to NOT BUY THIS MONITOR.

Some gradients look 8 bit, a bit of back light bleed and i have had the green lines.. I could live with the stupid controls and the crazy amount of heat it puts out but for the money i spent i expected better then this!

example gradient, an 1080p trailer - how the **** did they not spot this:

to the guy that said the banding problem was minor, wtf were you using the monitor for? staring at your reflection in the glossy panel?

On paper this is a cracking monitor and i really wanted to get behind hazro but its unbelievable that the current problems made it past testing and super annoying that its impossible to get a response from hazro. Its all well and good letting some of your customers know about the magical firmware fix (of which i have little faith) but what about the people who have got no response? we only have 7 days to send it back. Its also worrying that there is no phone number on their site.

Hazro is such a young company that it will collapse if it does not look after those early adopters who took a punt with it. Despite all this i still really like the monitor! I would keep it if hazro would just get in touch we me. The colors, image quality and design/build are superb, but i seriously can`t believe this is a rev 2.

can anyone tell me how to send it back and to who - oc or hazro?

I take it the firmware fix they are going to be releasing is also for there HZ26Wi as well? and as ive herd this screen has a option for RGB mode but is grayed out in the OSD, does anyone know if they plan to enable it?

Thank You!

Have you tried that trailer on a different monitor? Im tending to beleive that its a part of the film after exactly the same image can be seen on my other 2 monitors in the house.

@g5604,

A few silly questions first:
What is your old monitor ?
What is the Colour Quality setting in Display Properties->Settings ?
Are these images photographs or screen captures ?

1080p trailer: The only funnies I see on my crt could be attributed to the compression applied to the trailer.

Media Screen: Nasty banding everywhere.

Desktop: Again lots of nasty banding. Is it possible for you to provide a link to the wallpaper ?

One question for those with the newer monitor, are you able to change your brightness, contrast and sharpness settings? I am trying on mine but can't change anything, just won't let me go in to change the settings

Just calibrated as well, average of 0.3 with a max of 1.1. Blackpoint of 0.59 and this with the white point set at 150 cd/m². Still get a bit of banding but a hell of a lot better than it was before.

Hi, I'm 'the guy' and I still think the banding problem IS minor! I clicked on your sample image, and that banding is because of the image - light scatters under water causing that effect! I have only come across the banding in one real world instance, being the background on a web page and aside from that, I think this monitor is stunning!

Hazro are obviously listening to us early adoptors because they are working on a fix - otherwise they would just ignore all our messages! They have taken a bold plunge with these monitors and, from what I have read, this is by far the best 24" monitor in it's price bracket. Anyone fancy a laggy, eye searing Dell 2408WFP instead? Not me!

I have Horrifying news folks :(

I installed Vista64bit today and found ColorEyes does not work in it due to the unsigned communications driver it uses so I installed Lacie BlueEyePro and did a re-calibration using that. Results are better than in Vista32 so maybe 32bit Vista was causing some calibration issues ?

Anyway the results were:

Blackpoint Luminance was 0.62

Did you calibrate in coloreyes mate? also I can adjust sharpness etc (using DVI)

I used Blue Eye Pro.

Am using DVI as well but can't seem to adjust any of them, tried factory reset and fiddling about with other things as well but no luck :/

That's strange, would indicate your screen may be on a diff firmware than mine.

On the spanner tab what version is the OSD saying? mine says "HZ24W Ver 1.0"
