Hazro - Any Update?

boredhoe, sorry i come across that way, but i am still complaining about the problem because:

a) people should not be buying this monitor until its fixed
b) hazro have still not replied to my emails
c) people are this forum are trying to play down the problem - when it is really bad.

I wish someone was more honest before i brought it.

It depends on intended use as to if they should buy it, i agree they should be aware of it, but without photographs of the issue it is impossible to know the extent of the problem.

You find the problem "really bad" but I or someone else might find it barely noticeable, so it is a really subjective way to describe the issue. I only found your remarks childish because nobody else had noticed this before now and yet you say the problem is "really bad" and is an issue with every hazro, and all of this was said after news of an update to fix the issue!

lots of people have noticed the problem - which is pretty bad as i am guessing they have not sold thousands of these things. Also i am very wary of the magical fix as no other monitor is user upgradable. Also they have not given a firm date (or told half thier customers anything) which suggests they are still working on it.

I can`t really put much faith in a company that let this get past testing in the first place.

I am going to upload some pictures because the problem is terrible and people should know about it - i personally think its unacceptable for any type of user.

edit: here is a pic - sorry for the poor quality but is does show the banding accurately.

Prettymuch every piece of hardware that has software on has a secret mode that you can go into (usually by sending a special string) where you can modify prettymuch anything and everything.

Manufacturers usually don't want users to know about this incase they mess around with it, but there isn't any physical barrier to modifying any monitor (if you know how to get into the secret mode).

g5604 the compression on that jpg is going to exaggerate the problem significantly. You really need a higher quality photo or just give the raw output from the photo.

sorry but that is how it looks on my screen and from the camera, there is no compression. All i have done is resized in photoshop and saved out at maximum quality.

I dont think that site is a very good example, If when zoomed in very far what appears to be banding is actually the quality of colour/compression on the site itself (sample the actual colours and see), what you are seeing is probably worse because it's scaled to a bigger size so the artifacts are even more obvious.

If you take a photo of a proper (32 bit) colour scale then it would be clearer

Waw, all that money spent on a TFT and the pic looks terrible? Is that definitely a TFT problem and not a driver issue?

ok, the image is stupidly bad, but that is how the banding looks! the screen is amazing quality in general.

lets just agree there is a problem and hopefully it will be fixed. I personally find it really bad but maybe other people don`t. I have to say that it is nearly everywhere i look and it is very detracting especially if you are in the business of creating web graphics.

Are you saying this banding you are seeing on this particular website is not present on a different monitor ?

Sorry but In my humble opinion I too feel people have downplayed the faults on this monitor. I haven't personaly owned the screen but I have been following this thread for some time now.

Convinced me not to buy :(

I'm having doubts about buying one due to the well known issues, can anyone make me feel any better?

Will there definitely be a firmware fix that is do-able by all the owners which will fix these issues + when will it be out?

Seems ridiculous that they didn't notice the issues themselves.

Also, what will I need to calibrate it properly? I will be going straight from a CRT and have no experience at all with TFT screens.

Thanks
