Hazro - Any Update?

Well the company is new to these monitors, they are also small in this new sector and are gaining speed quite quick.

The reason why people are sticking with it is because of the one to one support they've been giving to the majority of people as best possible and the image quality of the screens despite the issues which are being fixed.

There are only 2 issues to note as well, the banding and the lines/snow.

All other issues are isolated and Hazro have said to mention them in the form so they can either fix them or sort something out for them.

The reasons I'm giving it another shot:

- No lag
- No ghosting
- Really good image quality
- Love the build quality
- Hard pressed to find the above with an IPS panel at this price point

The reason I'm returning it is due to the tinting in the corners, which isn't really anything Hazro specific. The other 2 issues (sparkling green snow which I haven't had, and gradients which I do have) can be fixed by Hazro within a few days so I think for what you get above, it's really worth it!

Fair enough, wouldn't mind seeing one in the flesh so to speak to see what the fuss is about. Out of my studenty price range anyway!

Are you the PCGF Mrk? Haven't been on that in ages!! You still frequent it? Looked pretty dead last time I looked, glory days are over

Sorry, but its amazing that some people are still proclaiming the company to be good. Lets recap.

- they shipped a second generation product with a very obvious defects

- the only way to contact them is through a form on their webiste - no phone number

- most customers are getting there information via this thread

- many customers have tried contacting them and got no reply, some have sent back to oc

- user upgradable firmware is promised weeks after the problem was reported. Deadline comes and goes. In this time people lose there 7 days return option.

- They are now saying we have to send our monitors away, violating the on site warranty. No deadline has been set, could be next Christmas for all we know.

- there are still selling them, even though they know they are defective and everyone will have to send them back.

if that`s good service, then i can`t imagine what you think is bad.

DO NOT BUY THIS MONITOR UNITL THEY HAVE FIXED ITS PROBLEMS

Just got off the phone to Overclockers, they said the quickest way for me to get a replacement is if I go through Hazro as they just send it back to them anyways. I would have thought that they would just send me another monitor from their current stock...anyways has anyone got Hazro to replace their monitor before (not fix)? Do they give a new one when they get the courier to pick up the faulty one, or will I be without it for a few days?

Thats how it worked last time.
I think they can get away with it this time because its a mass recall. But say it`ll only be 24-48 hours that you will be without your monitor.
Apparently. they are still working on the user updatable firmware fix. So any future updates will be able to be done ourselves.

Yup it's still about these days in some ways ¬_¬

Ok, got mine and the first thing I thought is "is it meant to rotate??". I can rotate it slightly left, but I rotated it back and it seems pretty tough so I'm not fussed. I've got one stuck red pixel near the bottom right, and 2 dead pixels together near the top right. I have the banding issue too, so it looks like I'll have to do the whole firmware upgrade thing. Also, with a completely white background, the middle of the screen looks to have a slightly more yellow tinge than the sides. Awesome display though, but I'm not sure if I can swap it out for another one?

Send that back under the DSA, you have 3 dead pixels and bad banding!

Thank God I didn't buy one of these... what a shambles.

Ah that sucks, I've requested that the courier brings the replacement at the same time as he picks this one up so hopefully they'll be kind enough to do so.

I think I'd still send it to Hazro for the firmware fix just to get the shielding done also, as who knows what environmental interference may cause problems if I were to move, or with any future hardware.

Oh and Richdog, if I were to send it back under the DSA, then Overclockers would be responsible for replacing it right? Although I doubt they'd replace it with their current stock and just send it back to Hazro anyways, so it'd probably be best to go through Hazro themselves.

No if you send it back through the DSA durring the first 7 days as not being fit for sale due to the problems outlined, then they have to give you a full refund of your money. You can then order a new one or wait until the issues have been fixed before ordering another.

Oh and your sig can only be 4 lines max, yours is way too big. (just warning you as it'll dissappear otherwise). :)

I guess I could get a refund and order a new one, that way I'll have both at the same time so I won't be without one and I won't have to undo all of the cabling I did.

Cheers for the sig heads-up, I find it useful putting specs in sigs as I always end up forgetting to mention a component in a post where someone needs to know!

If you could, I would get a refund and wait till all the issues have been resolved before ordering a new one. But that would mean no monitor for a while  Unless you have a spare laying around...

Just got a mass mail from Hazro giving access to the form to register for the RMA.
I can't decide whether to do this or just send it back to OC for a refund.
Just too many issues to feel confident at the moment.

This notification is intended for owners of the following ONLY:

24" HZ24Wi Monitor who have been affected by any of the
problems outlined below. If any of the issues do not affect
your HZ24Wi monitor, please discard this message and
announcement.

----------------------------------------------------------
ISSUES:
----------------------------------------------------------

- Banding on gradient backgrounds and images.
- Random pixelation i.e. 'sparking' of pixels.

If you have any other issue along or apart from the above,
you are required to declare these on the form in the
relevant section.

----------------------------------------------------------
ADDITIONAL INFO:
----------------------------------------------------------

In order for the firmware RMA to be actioned, you are
required to complete the registration page found at:

http://www.hazro.co.uk/index.php?option=com_rsform&formId=9&Itemid=99999

Once the form has been filled, Hazro will arrange for
collection of the monitor [on the dates specified in the
form]. You are required to print the form and insert a copy
into the packaging ready for collection.

----------------------------------------------------------
NOTE TO HZ26Wi CUSTOMERS ONLY:
----------------------------------------------------------

Hazro will issue instructions to customers affected by the
above issues in due course. The firmware upgrade is likely
to take at least another 10 working days.

----------------------------------------------------------
FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS:
----------------------------------------------------------

It is important to note that firmware changes are NOT
upgrades and should ONLY be considered if necessary. If any
of the above problems do not affect your monitor or you
consider them to be tolerable, you are advised to retain
your monitor as RMA can result in swap outs [i.e. receipt of
a completely different unit to the one you already have].
This can result in receipt of a unit which has stuck
pixels/banding which Hazro deem acceptable for issue in line
with the ISO policies.

----------------------------------------------------------
ENFORCEMENT:
----------------------------------------------------------

The above issues affect only a handful of monitors. Hazro
will strictly enforce the Warranty Policy which can be found
in all instruction manuals and also on-line at:

http://www.hazro.co.uk/downloads/Hazro_Manual_v3.pdf

Please refer to the 'Miscellaneous Issues' section and point
3 in particular.

----------------------------------------------------------
NOTES:
----------------------------------------------------------

No cables or accessories are required to be returned with
the monitor UNLESS any other issue has been noted.

All collect and return costs will be borne by Hazro.

Yours sincerely

At last the form we've all been waiting for :)

My issue is I'm at work Mon - Fri, 9 - 5:30. So I'll presume I can just stick my works address in the address fields and they'll come to work to collect.

Sticking my home address in would be useless and obviously no one will be in to give to it them :(

Thankfully they only ask for invoice number as my dad paid for it and he's on holiday, so I'm going to have to deal with this.
