*** iPhone 5 - Revealed! ***

That was reported in the news recently but I don't think it is true. Its more a case of the public not knowing what they want until they are given it.

Well after a bit of browsing, Orange & T-Mobile (EE) are supposed to be releasing 4G (1800mHz - This apparently is compatible with the iPhone 5) this year (Sept 11th) - they have apparently been busy upgrading there network with the help of Huawei.

I'm not sure it will be compatible with the new iPhone. The current iPad supports 1800MHz for standard GSM connectivity, but not for 4G (it only supports the 700MHz and 2100MHz standards used in the US). If the new iPhone is the same then it won't work.

I don't see what the fuss is about 4g anyway. We don't have it, we wont have 4g worth talking about for at least 18 months by that time your shine iPhone 5 wont be as shine as it first was.

I know EE can now deploy 4g but its going to be limited.

No ****, but that was hardly his point. I hate unnecessary interface changes.

IMHO it's due a change, for the reasons already mentioned. 10 years for a single, standard data/power cable is not bad. Not sure if it's already been posted but this is some good analysis based on the photos of the possible leaked part.

Apple is one company not scared to change things, but rarely just for the sake of it, usually its when they can make solid improvements.

If you live in a big city though chances are you'll benefit first.

Anyone actually properly impressed by the 2012 iPhone mock-ups?

Sure it'll be nice to use for people that like this sort of thing, but it is a bit too similar to the last 2 gens if iPhone.

iPhone progress has been incredibly slow for some time. With the Samsung ruling it'll only get a lot worse.

For everyone that is complaining about it looking similar to what the 4/4s is... what on earth are you expecting them I change?!

The 4 design is a stunning one that still hasn't been rivalled (unless you count massive plastic, flimsy things! So why change it?

Increasing the screen size over 4 inches would mean that you'd need to use 2 hands to use the phone- a poor design decision if ever there was one. The huge screen of a galaxy s3 might be nice to look at but it's impractical for 90% of the time!

You can see why did they did'nt want to go wider with those square edges as it would uncomfortable to hold, makes the phone look out of proportion though. And i guess the plastic if it is plastic at the top and the bottom is to help with reception. Must have some weight about it though.

In your opinion, in my opinion the 4/S is pretty ugly from the front with too much bezel.

16gb 4S's go for over £300 at the minute so I reckon and I'd be happy with them hovering around the £300 on release of the 5.

If the 5 is what's been rumoured then I think 4S prices will hold at their current level for a while after release. They could even get a bit stronger IMO.

That may sound mad but bear in mind that, if the 5 doesn't really offer much over the 4S or possibly even turn some people off with it's larger size, then there could be a very good market for mint condition 4S phones, especially if Apple discontinue most of them. They'll probably keep selling the base 16GB model, as they've done before, but based on previous evidence, the discount will be pathetic and they'll still be charging something like £430 for one, so £300 for a mint condition one would seem more than reasonable.
