Sticking a caretaker in place was never going to convince him to stay. Giving a caretaker 30 million to spend when the players and system might not be wanted by the new boss still left to much uncertainty in my opinion for a player already seeking assurances and having them fail/lied to.

I dont know you may end up being spot on but on paper even with those two added to your 11 losing Torres being the world class player he is makes your team look weaker imo

I'm certainly not worried about the trip to Anfield in March anymore ;)

I think it's very possible. Torres might score you 25 goals a season so if Suarez and Carroll can score 15 each, you could end up being better off.

And like I said, we've still got £20m+ that was earmarked to be spent this window which will hopefully be available in the summer.

edit: Incredibly brave of the club to pay £35m for Carroll though.

Depending on their aspirations I predict Carroll to have left Liverpool within 3 years

As for the lad from Ajax who knows, most players that have come from Holland have failed to live up to their billing but maybe Liverpool have got themselves a RvN instead of a Kezman - only time will tell. I'm surprised Spurs wasn't in for him tbh
 
Losing the best striker in the prem on-form for a violent geordie and Suarez who's done well in the Dutch league... hmmm...

I don't believe that for a minute. Football fans like to believe that crap but the men paying the bills will look at it completely differently.

They will see it as money saved in a 2 for 1 deal.

Instead of spending 30 million on Adams and Suarez they have probably spent 5-10 million depending on what chelsea pay for Suarez and Carroll. It could be less than 20 million saved but I doubt it's going in any transfer pot.
