Maybe it was just too little too late.

I can't imagine that LB (name escaped me from Fulham) and Poulson were the type of players a Liverpool side of years gone by would be after.

I don't imagine it was soley money motivated, if it was he'd be at City. Chelsea are a team who are in contention for Cups, it's a sad day when a player leaves one of the European power houses to join Chelsea. I'd say it shows a shift in power within English football.

Funny how the 2 teams that have done very little business are sat pretty at the top of the league :D

Oh aye it's a nightmare for United, we have to play Chelsea twice and I don't like the thought of Torres and Drogba running at our back line.
 
Imagine what Kevin Phillips would have been worth after his one decent season at sunderland. :D

Great timing for Carroll. Bet even he can't believe his luck.

Wont matter this season, they will be so far behind it wont matter.

Plus to play them both they have change their system or they loose out on the best parts of their game.

If they do that, they weaken the strongest part of the chelsea system, the midfield.

So no, it doesnt bother me.

Ooohhh get Mr Pessimistic ;)

Whether they change their system or not, the thought of Drogba and Torres scares the **** out of me, I'm hoping like you say they can't fit together and they have to continue with the one up front but even then, Torres goes off at 60 minutes, replaced by Drogba. Not a nice thought :/

Its going to be one the other, neither Torres or Dogba are wide players, and if chelsea switch to 4-4-2 they dont have the players in the middle for it.
 
The stuff he was saying on Chelsea tv was sickening.

"Moved to a big club, that I deserve". Only him and Diouf gave interviews after signing. What sickens me the most is all the young scousers who idolised him. (5-10yolds with posters all over their room, footie tops with his name on etc.)

Fernando, you have absolutely no class. Your Grandfather, and Athletico Fans will be disappointed.

That makes sense though doesnt it? I mean a team at the top of the table you wouldnt expect to do much business because they are already at the top of the table and so their squad is fine, whereas a team which is off the pace you would expect to do more business in order to attempt to catch up ?

He is too good to be playing for a club that can't qualify for the Champions League.
 
Yep but I think those two clubs are the ones that consistently give their players the most time. Can't really blame Liverpool though with te Torres thing being sprung on them. I think Chelsea obviously felt they needed one last splurge before the Ffp came in. Hah at city fans hoping they'd be buying, if your squad is still thin after a 300mill investment then something has gone seriously pear shaped.
 
Was great hearing some of the stuff Torres was saying.

The striker said: "The target for every player is to play for one of the tops clubs in the world and I can do it now, so I'm very happy."
