January Transfer Window 2010/2011 Season Rumours/Signings

The pace it was going at, and might have been a 'glancing blow', although looks like a good second of contact,i think if he was fully aware of the severity of the tackle he would have reacted. Shocking tackle that.

A bit stupid saying he might not have seen it though eh?

"Bloody hell, the winds picked up a bit hasn't it"

"Oh silly me, it's a small South American that has just lunged at me viciously"

By seeing it i mean see it coming? You have stated impact not the vision of seeing what someone is doing coming towards him?

He might have caught it with his periphral(sp) vision and saw him coming to tackle, im sure if he saw it was a two footed drop kick he would have reacted differently i'd of thought.

I don't think it's to do with a 'South American stereotype', more the angle of cameras/the stands at games means we usually have a distorted top-down perspective of players and thus their builds or proportions can affect how tall we think someone is rather than their actual height.

It works bother ways: Suarez appearing small, and it being suprising to some how small Scholes or Arshavin actually are once you see them at awards ceremonies or interviews.

Feel this whole 'backstabber' thing for Torres is blown out of proportion too, even the normally aloof BBC has run an article called 'Torres wants goal against Liverpool' but actually 75% of the article is Fernando saying he 'has nothing bad to say about Liverpool' and they get the article title from a single sentence stating he wants to play well and score for Chelsea in general.

Kind of feel sorry for him but then again he should've known the kind of fans he bought into while at Anfield and the kind of football media England has in general.

You can't knock him for it really, he came to Liverpool to win trophies and they have been a long way from that recently, Chelsea come knocking and he feels it's time to move on. He left Atl Madrid to win things.

If Liverpool were top of the league and doing well in the CL then you would have to question his motives, fact of the matter is Liverpool are off the pace and he knows it.

Whatever it is, it certainly works. A guy at work today said that Suarez and Carroll would work well together because little and large strike partnerships seem to do so well. I had to point out Suarez height and he was quite taken aback by the height. :)

Then leave at the end of the season or at the very least give the club more notice than he did.

And he could have chose a more ambitious club. Chelsea still have more than their fair share of rebuilding to do and from this summer onwards they're going to be limited with what they can do about that in the transfer market.

Maybe so but you must admit they are in a far stronger position than Liverpool at the moment.

As for him leaving at the end of the season, have you stopped to consider how ****ed off he might be at Liverpool?

As I said about a billion pages back, it seems more like he's leaving half a season late than half a season early. He should have been off in the summer. Yes the amount of notice was shady but you got 50 million for him! How much do you think he would have fetched if he'd put in a transfer request at the beginning of January?

Possibly more than 50 as it might have caused a bidding war between man city and chelsea :)
