January Transfer Window 2010/2011 Season Rumours/Signings

Good, keeps their hands off Reina :)

laughs - can really see that transfer happening (NOT)

All animosity aside, Reina would be the perfect choice, but the clubs will just never agree to let it happen (even if Reina agreed to it, which unfortunately is probably just as unlikely), just like the Heinze deal a few seasons ago in the other direction (and he wasnt even a first XI player by that point)

me neither. trouble is, he's too inconsistent and i assume him not bothering to improve his english hasn't helped things but there are times when he really shows his class and i think if we'd have stuck by him from day 1, we could have had an awesome striker in him! just never got going really.

Reina hinting that maybe he'd quite fancy a move to United? :D

I bet thats a case of dodgy reporting :)

Even if Reina forces his way out (due to no CL, if Liverpool dont qualify), I would be surprised if Utd were the only CL club to go for him - which I think would be the only possible way he could end up at Utd.

He's also on a pretty new deal, so I would expect him to have an astronomical fee (I just cant imagine the two clubs ever sitting down to do a deal directly)

Lets hope so, though you know what they say, no player is bigger than the club, dont want players who dont want to be there, if a player wants to go we'll ensure that we do everything we can to get the best deal for them etc ;)

After signing Liverpool striker Fernando Torrres for £50m, Chelsea have turned their sights to Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas. Owner Roman Abramovich is prepared to sanction another £50m move to bring in the midfielder.

As an Arsenal fan I have no problems with Cesc leaving one day. However if this is true and he moves sooner rather than later I'd love a bidding war between Chelsea and Barca.

Should Torres remain fit though, I can't think of anything more devestating than Cesc behind him.

It wouldn't sir the emotions seeing him with a chelsea shirt? Mind you you already seen him with a barca one:)

I wouldn't want him to go to Chelsea, however, if I was the Arsenal board/Wenger, I'd definitely pretend I didn't mind, so as to get Barca stumping up more than their previous bids.

We already know what will happen they already play together for span. It's not proved particularly devastating.

What do you think Abramovich will do once he's spent £1b and still doesn’t dominate English/European football?

Le Guardian said:
Although he was reminded that he has won an FA Cup with Liverpool, [Pepe Reina]'s response was pessimistic. "Yes," he said, "but that was a long time ago. We used to fight to be among the top teams and to be in the Champions League but sadly in the last two years that has not been the case. Obviously, I want to play in the Champions League and I want to aspire to win titles.

"I would like to think that the departure of players does not mean that we are slipping. I think Liverpool will always be a big club but we have to be realistic and the reality is that right now we are not at the level of Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea or Arsenal. That's the truth."
