Is Isco a wide player?

Do feel for Isco he hasn't appeared to have moved on as much as I thought he would have, but maybe I just don't follow RM closely enough

This is why RM bought him. They could at least loan him out so he gets games.

Isco, Draxler and De Bruyne don't get enough credit or attention.

Real have just posted over 1/2 billion euro debt. They will sell anyone if the price is right.

http://swissramble.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/truth-about-debt-at-barcelona-and-real.html

So, much of Madrid’s €590 million and Barcelona’s €578 million debt includes liability for what might be termed normal operations. If we apply the same definition to Manchester United, they have debt (total liabilities) of just under €1 billion (£824 million converted at a rate of 1.20). Even Arsenal’s debt on the same basis is €524 million, which the journalists would no doubt describe as “eye-watering” if they were talking about others and not their template for a well-run club. To use an old adage, you have to make sure that you are comparing apples with apples.

They won't sell to anyone, they make a profit and journalists like to make things sound more important than they are.

Their actual debt a couple years ago was 150mil while their liabilities were 550+mil.

If you don't want to read the whole thing, liabilities can include for instance receiving 100mil in season ticket sales. As of preseason you can have 100mil in cash but be deemed as owing 100mil back to those season ticket holders until you provide that service. So with each game it ticks down till it hits zero liability after the last game is played for the season. In other words, it's god damned absurd. It's "if the club stopped tomorrow, played no more games ever, how much do we owe back to the fans, people who we're paying for transfers by installments, wages for the year, etc, etc. It's a nonsense figure.

In terms of "real" debt as we talk about, money owed to banks or money lended by rich owners(of which the latter is usually not considered significant debt and is usually only left on the books so if they ever sold the club they could potentially get some or all of that back, it's a negotiating position rather than "if you don't pay this off the club goes bankrupt" debt. Like Arsenal are in 200mil or so of "real" debt, as in loans from the bank for the stadium that are being paid off for another 15 years or so.

With cash reserves Real Madrid's effective debt as 48mil as of a couple of years ago. It's nothing, the club are one of the healthiest clubs in europe.

People are talking about Arsenal's 173mil cash reserves with the dailymail talking it up as 100mil at least to spend even if they lost 60mil from dropping out of the champions league..... they are idiots.

We have say 200mil in stadium debt and 173mil cash reserves, this is to effectively pay off the debt, you consider the difference to be our real debt, ie around 30million. That reserves isn't purely for spending, it's for paying off huge debt Arsenal still have. This idea Arsenal paid off their debt is laughable, we only approached a point where our reserves roughly speaking cover the majority of our debt. That money is effectively earmarked for the debt so if we dropped out of the prem league or had some disaster we have a lump sum to pay off the debt with.

EDIT:- if you get far enough, profit for that season stood at 47mil for Real, 36mil for Utd, 18mil for Arsenal and Barca made a 12million loss. For a 5 year period Real made a 200mil profit, while buying the likes of Ronaldo, Kaka, Benzema, Coentrao, Ozil, Di Maria, etc, etc. They are making a genuine profit every year beyond anything almost any other team does(a few newly promoted clubs to the prem league get huge tv money and keep extremely low wages and make a hefty profit for the year). They are significantly stronger than Barca, Utd and Arsenal, factoring in their player spending they still turn a profit.

The ONLY reason Utd are worth more as a club in total is due to owning the stadium and that is also helped by land value in uk. Most english teams have stronger assets due to stadium ownership.

Sami would be just the signing Arsenal need.

Arsenal agree £11m Khedira deal

Arsenal have agreed a deal in principle with Real Madrid for Sami Khedira. The Gunners have offered £11m for the Germany international who could move to north London in the January transfer window.

Not even slightly, he's Wilshere/Ramsey mk 2. When he plays as he wants to play, he's basically someone who plays a bit like Lampard, he likes to run into the box behind the attack. Against Brazil he was anonymous when defending in the second half(and for many of the games) but he came alive in that 10 mins after Germany were 2-0 up, what was he doing, running between half way and their box, attacking, passing, one twos, shooting.

He's more offensive and not particularly strong defensively.

What Arsenal are screaming out for is a Schweinstiger, Matic, Blind. All three are capable of scoring, getting to the opposition box, driving the team forward, but they are WAY more dynamic, way more aggressive, way way way better defensively than your average central mid. Khedira in reality is closer to an AMC than even a CM, let alone a DM.

We want a Schweinstiger type to play alongside Wilshere in central mid in tougher games, Khedira would be the Wilshere type in that partnership and he's no where near good enough to be the Schweinstiger type.

Now, sell Arteta, Rosicky, Diaby and bring in Khedira, sure, as rotation options to help protect Wilshere and Ramsey from playing too much, but then bring in a top top DM as well with Flamini as back up to the main DM.

Iker to leave RM.

Casillas to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season

AIker Casillas will leave Real Madrid at the end of the season. The goalkeeper's situation at the club is complicated but he has decided it will be best to leave the Bernabeu.

Man City ready £35m Barkley bid

Manchester City will again try to sign Everton star Ross Barkley, with reports suggesting the Premier League champions will make a £35 million bid in January.

Ramiers to RM seems a strange one. Can't see it happening.

Madrid prepare £25m Ramires bid

Real Madrid are set to make a £25 million move for Chelsea midfielder Ramires. Carlo Ancelotti wants to strengthen his midfield and sees the 27-year-old as the ideal fit, with a bid expected in either January or next summer.

Man City think 35m will be enough? Add another £15m and throw in Aguero ;)

Did they learn nothing when they chucked money at us for our last crock :p

You will have to pay someone to take diaby. How many games has he played in the last three years, 2?

Pirlo going to the retirement league?

LA Galaxy considering move for Pirlo

LA Galaxy want to bring Italy legend Andrea Pirlo to the MLS franchise. The deal may prove to be tricky though because Bruce Arena wants to sign Pirlo in January ahead of the new season but during Juventus' current Serie A campaign.

A couple of articles about Ronaldo to Man Utd from Mark Ogden:

Manchester United will have to fund a £140 million package to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo next summer if they pursue a second attempt to lure the Real Madrid winger back to Old Trafford.

The staggering cost of completing a move for Ronaldo has emerged with senior figures at Europe’s leading clubs given notice of the player’s £380,000-a-week wage demands and the prospect of Real seeking a £60 million transfer fee for the 29-year-old.

Can he play at his current level (or somewhere around that) for 3-4 more years? If yes, then do it! Difficult to tell though.
