"Just stop oil"

Terrorism really? Chucking petrol bombs at tents is Terrorism, not this (regardless of where we stand on the issue).

Apologies if my sarcasmometer is broken.

If the public launched a small flotilla to stop the migrants coming in to the beaches or onto the taxi services charities provide, like the eco warriors stop the public going where they want, would you be singing the same tune?

TERRORISM ACTS

Terrorism is defined in United Kingdom law as the use or threat of action, both in and outside of the United Kingdom, designed to influence any international government organisation or to intimidate the public and for the purpose of advancing a political, religious, racial or ideological cause.

Definition seems to fit.

Chlorofluorocarbons were widely used in aerosol sprays and fridge heat exchange fluids until it was realised they damage the ozone layer. Sunlight releases the chlorine from the CFCs and the chlorine reacts with ozone to give chlorine monoxide and oxygen. As Auk said, we have largely stopped using them and the ozone layer is replenishing again.

Edit: Thomas Midgley Jr invented CFCs but that wasn't his only enviro disaster. He also developed tetraethyl lead as an anti-knock agent for petrol cars. This, of course, caused lead to be distributed widely in big cities, another disaster. What a guy!

He also suffered from polio so developed a pulley system to help him in and out of bed, which he eventually hung himself with! Guy seriously couldn't catch a break.

So basically all lobbying then :D

Rishi Sunak last night paved the way for Britain to pay reparations to countries most impacted by climate change. The Prime Minister gave his approval for the matter to be one of the issues discussed at the COP27 summit in Egypt this week.

I’m starting to wonder if it’s a method of allowing the wealthy to funnel and transfer that money into investments overseas under the guise of “climate reparations”.

It’s hard not to wonder if there’s some kind of agenda being pushed here at the expense of the British public. It all seems like a bit of a power grab by those in authority without the consent of the voters.

I notice there’s no mention of developing countries outside of Europe like India, Brazil or China to pay towards these “reparations “ for their current industry? Where exactly is this money coming from? British taxpayers presumably!

It obviously is. We are all interconnected like never before and these lying politicians are getting found out left right and centre. I am sure in the Thatcher days it was even worse but because of propaganda and the lack of social media these things could have been covered up.

It is a shame really because if these "Just Stop Oil" protests put it to the government instead I am sure they would get more support because lets face it our whole system needs to be revaluated.

For everyone here who was obviously impacted directly today (I can tell from the strong vibes) why don’t you set up a “Just Stop Just Stop Oil?” movement? You’ll regularly be travelling on the M25 anyway so are probably really well placed to do something like beating them up the gantries (I mean being there first)pretending to be cleaners or maintenance folk.

Easy :D

Most lobbyists do not use direct action designed to intimidate.
I can’t keep up. I thought these guys were all melts who you’d give a good kicking to if you had the chance (and weren’t all talk (let’s be honest, you wouldn’t)), but now you’re intimidated by them? Make your mind up.

Only a matter of time before one is run over and squashed.
Someone should just get some of that orange paint they spray on buildings and give them a taste of their own medicine. Just blast them orange but make sure they need some turps to scrub it off. Nice can of orange gloss

Your idea, why don't you do it?
I haven't and doubt I will see any of them, just don't live anywhere near any of the usual protest spots. I live in the countryside , only thing we have blocking the roads are pot holes

I just thought it would be funny to be honest, them seem happy blasting orange liquid about so they can't really complain if it happened to them.

Again we see the difference between the protestors and the complainers, I seriously doubt many of them happen to live right next to the M25 they are willing to travel and sacrifice for something they believe in. I don’t see the counter protests I just see lots of whinging!

They’d probably quite like the orange paint idea, they would get a shed load of media coverage and someone else would be going to court for a change!

I’m not a huge fan of their choice of protest or a big supporter of their cause but I do admire the tenacity and determination some might even call it good old British Bulldog Spirit!
