Mercedes Benz and AMG Owners

Hello!:D
I recently became the owner of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class (w205).
I plan to buy a head unit on Android OS, but before that, I want to study in detail all the aspects, difficulties, and possible consequences of such an undertaking.
I have a 2016 model.
Maybe someone already installed it, please share your experience, I will be very grateful.
Many THX)
Maybe you know?;)

Thanks for the feedback, I had considered one early on but people on other forums had suggested they didn't notice a difference. I think I'll get one ordered and see how I get on :)

In other news, my car was dropped off at 8am on Thursday to resolve the outstanding issues. Got a "health check" video at lunch time with a message saying I will get a call back to discuss next steps which I thought was odd. Didn't hear anything until lunch time today asking me how to start the car. Turns out nothing had been done, and around 1:30 they drove it to another dealership who will be resolving the issues. Noticed a geofence alert after the call and was greeted with:

Hoping they noticed the average speed cameras on the way and the camera van from the morning had moved on :o

Did you make a complaint to the dealer about this? What system is that in the car? Does it have dashcam?

So as anticipated, I've been given the run around regarding my V Class. Because they refused to do the handbrake job without doing the rear discs and pads, they hadn't got the parts so needed to order them in. This took best part of a week, only then for them to realise they need handbrake cables as well, so again had to wait closer to two weeks. My father in law (who is a regular of theirs) happened to swing by the garage to see how they were getting on. Up until that point they had no idea that the V Class was anything to do with him - suppose it isn't - but it's immediate family I guess...

I get a phone call about an hour later from the service manager saying that they've looked at the discs and pads again (christ you can do it straight through the alloys due to the design) and they've decided that they don't need swapping after all. New bill is now £1007 instead, so £700 cheaper. Absolute joke. I knew the discs and pads were fine, they were just trying it on and only when they realised that they'd **** off a regular they changed their tune. Disgusting behaviour and exactly why I hate dealing with most main dealers.

I’ve just sold my 2017 E Class partly because I’ve had enough of the dealers and they have to many expensive faults to run one without a warranty for me. Round here they’re all Marshall and they treat all customers like their some sort of cash cow to be milked. If I’d acted on their recommended but totally unnecessary work I’d be about £3000 worse off. The quality of the workmanship is terrible too - they replaced a door hinge under warranty and despite taking it back 3 times they never got the alignment of the door right. I gave up in the end.

Now looking for a petrol Mercedes that can be maintained by a specialist. Not keen on another 213 and the only petrol option would be an E43 AMG. I’m wondering if a 212 E500 might be worth seeking out. I’ve acquired a brown Mondeo as interim transport -which I actually rather like truth be told, so I’m in no particular rush. Always wanted a CL but just wouldn’t work with no back doors for my children and if I kept the Mondeo as a family wagon I’d use the CL so infrequently I suspect it would suffer through lack of use. Might have to be an S Class Coupe in a few years when one of the kids has grown up.

I had a quote for my extended warranty today. It is due December 11th. They reckon £464 for one year or £804 for two years. Two years seems like reasonable value?

The car is almost 4 years old now (first registered September 2018).

I know only I can answer whether it is good value, but what do you chaps think? I've done approx. 10k miles in 3 years.

Sounds great. (E43 isn't it?)

It’s a bargain, when you consider the E63 is £1260 for a year
