Lucky this policeman was wearing a bodycam or the #metoo movement would have had him hanging from a tree, or if he was lucky just fired from his job without a pension and reputation in tatters.

If this keeps up then before too long bodycams will become the hottest new fashion item for men, the ultimate police state accessory. :p

It really is heading this way. We've seen on the news how innocent guys end up in prison because the court assumes the women is telling the truth. On top of that, there doesn't seem to be any consequences for the one who lied...

They'd do that anyway if they could and they will if they get enough power. Like all extremist bigots, they don't give a damn about the truth as long as they can harm their chosen target biological group and in any case they've probably convinced themselves that their target biological group is always guilty regardless of evidence. They're far more dangerous than most such bigots because they have far more political power and political skill, so they can do far more harm to the ideas of presumption of innocence, a fair trial and all the rest of justice. They are making progress on that front - they have already succeeded in having presumption of guilt for their target biological group widely seen as being a good thing and they can and do demand that presumption of guilt publically without the villification that should result when extremist bigots demand that a biological group be presumed guilty. They're making some headway towards having that presumption of guilt made official policy de jure and they're making more headway towards having it made policy de facto by the success they're having in swaying people to their ideology of irrational prejudice. Since people form juries, conditioning enough people to presume that the "wrong" biological group is guilty will bias trials.

Notice that even the apology from the law firm which greatly worsened the harm done by the presumption of guilt solely on the grounds of biological grouping explicitly praised that presumption of guilt. The only thing these bigots consider wrong about false accusations is any attention being paid to them because that might, just might, slow down the ever-increasing presumption of guilt a little bit. The law firm had to make some statement as a PR exercise, of course, but it won't change the way they work. Other such bigots won't even bother with that - they see nothing wrong in presuming that their target biological group is guilty and it's socially and legally acceptable for them to publically and vociferously say so, so why would they apologise for doing so?

If this keeps up then before too long bodycams will become the hottest new fashion item for men, the ultimate police state accessory. :p

They would be stigmatised and then banned for that purpose. Proof of innocence is something these bigots particularly hate because it might, just might, slow down the ever-increasing presumption of guilt that they love so much. Many of them are fantasising about it reaching the extent necessary for them to get away with the lynchings that they so passionately want to take part in, so they won't want anything to delay the progress to that point.

Disgusting. She deserves jail time, if anything to deter others.

As much as sometimes the whole alpha beta etc can be a bit over the top. There are still grains of truth found in all of those discussions.

That story is shocking.....god help future generations.

I think it was in this thread that I mentioned about John Leslie being charged with sexual assault. Well it turns out he's been cleared of it.

The story combines several of the hot topics around the #metoo issue, such as false allegations, pressure to secure convictions, withholding evidence etc. The police weren't interested in getting the CCTV that showed the incident, Leslie himself had to get it from the nightclub for his own defence. If Leslie hadn't gotten the CCTV footage he would almost certainly have been convicted as the Judge noted that the "victim" was entirely believable in her evidence.

Leslie is now threatening to sue the police.

And so he should.

It should literally be STANDARD practice to do that in places like bars and nightclubs, quite frankly it should be mandatory for clubs etc to have CCTV and HAVE to provide the tapes after any incidents. And the fact they did t even bother to try get the tapes? Christ above

Probably that quoting a number of short sequences of words without the context of the much longer passage they come from doesn't constitute an argument or a sensible comment?

Yes.

Also that false accusations (either explicit or crudely and obviously insinuated) are par for the course for an ideology of authoritarianism and irrational prejudices, so stockhausen's post is to be expected. Sad, but expected.

When talking about an ideology of authoritarianism and extreme irrational prejudice on the basis of biology group identity, any accurate description will include those short sequences of words because that's what such ideologies are all about. Not using them is like not using any economic terms when referring to an ideology based on economics or not using any terms related to football when talking about football or not making any references to flight when talking about birds.

Yikes

Wouldn't be surprised if there is some sort of mental health issue with that bloke, really not right at all to lash out like that in such a situation.

So the title question has been definitively answered.

One of the leaders of the metoo movement has paid off a child actor she raped while he was underage (after having worked with him since he was 7).

The other leaders are now calling for people to be gentle and that we don't know the full story a radical change from attacking people for still being friends with Harvey's wife.

So yep if your a man you should be assumed guilty if you're a woman then there must be more to it
