#MeToo - is it just different for men and women?

It's not some random woman on the street though is it, why do you feel the need to remove all context? Contextually the kiss isn't completely outrageous, if she didn't like it then a simple apology privately would've been perfectly fine. Him learning from it and not doing it again and everyone moving on with their lives and celebrating their world cup win which has now been tarnished with this complete rubbish would've been preferable.

He clearly doesn't have a relationship with her where kissing on the lips is acceptable. I'm sure you wouldn't go up to a female work colleague and kiss them on the lips unless you were absolutely 100% sure you had that kind of relationship with them.

He hasn't learned a damned thing from it because he thinks it was fine and now has the FA he controls suing her.

She was hugging him and lifted him up.

I mean that doesn't usually happen in my office either.

He could counter sue she physically assaulted him too

Sexual assault exhibition A, why weren't fifa/fifpro investigating this?

You're comparing celebrating winning the world cup to work colleagues, would you want a woman fired for kissing you on the lips on New Years Eve for 0.4 seconds? That's the closest comparison I can think of. You're comparing it to a day in the office and removing the context because you literally have to make it sound worse than it was, why do you do that?

It would be entertaining to see in court quite honestly.

My money would be on Ex President losing, can you place a bet on a court case? Sure it's not very ethical, but Machismo by name and by nature like my pal Luis.

Look what he did was wrong, he apologised.

But what's a fair punishment? Lose your job? Disciplinary? Yeeted from society?

What does her husband have to say about it all anyway?

Whatever is going on between the women's game and the Spanish FA; it seems it has been a complete an utter relationship shambles leading up and in spite of the win, which has been utterly overshadowed by this spectacle and has seemingly highlighted problematic societal / cultural forms of masculinity within Spain itself.

Its sexual assault and you are comparing it to a granny kissing their grandchild. And the idea that he asked if he could kiss her on the lips is laughable.

Get a grip - it was a spur of the moment thing - people screaming "sexual assault" have lost all touch with reality.

You lot will end up cancelling yourselves before too long.

I think your being far to leniant, he needs to be made into eunuch first, maybe a semi eunuch because Luis was good with a ball he should only be allowed to have one of his own.

I slept with a girl once, we were both drunk,it was in her motorhome, when i woke up, next to a pretty lady, I got physical sexually when suddenly she clamps up
turns out she couldn't remember having sex the night before, then, when she gets home she tells her fella that she got woken up by someone ( me )trying to rape her, her bf went on to tell everyone about this with me targeted as a rapist! I lost a lot of friends, and respect from the circle that I was in at the time, and her story took precedence over mine, because she was the female 'victim'
I've still not got over this, it was a real low period of my life
so yeah, from the other side #metoo
personally I think she did remember but didn't want to face the truth of cheating on her bf,
crap shag as well, so I literally got nothing out of it other than a destroyed life, I was forced out of where I was living at the time over it too.

He did apologise, it wasn't good enough.
In this day and age, and being in his position, he should have known it was risky doing this.

I'm not Spanish but I can imagine in cultures that are more "physical" that they would have had big conversations about it. It would be interesting to see the general opinion of the public in Spain was.

Anyone here lived in Spain for long enough to have an insight in to Spanish cultural opinion? Or are there any Spanish people on the forum?

What a carry on, in the heat of an "important" football match victory a man deeply involved in the game and country kisses a player for said country momentarily on the lips, in excitement and gratitude. The media has a vaccuous melt down, a person's job is then ended. Aren't most of these women footballers in Dorothy's Gang anyway? A very vulgar pursuit for a woman come what may...
