*** Nintendo Switch ***

I wish they made the switch 2 more ergonomic. The flat joycons are so uncomfortable compared to the Steam Deck for instance. Looks like no analogue triggers too which is pretty rubbish.

If the leak is true it looks pretty boring to be honest but of course they aren't going to change it up too much as the original Switch was a license to print money.

I hate the joycons, I'll be hoping 8-bitDo update (If required) the USB adapter I've got to work on the Switch 2 so I can use my Wii U Pro controller with it.

I use Hori Split pad pro when using the Switch portable, the joy cons are awful and make my hands hurt. Only downside is it doesn't work with everything as it has no gyro or rumble :(. Lucky for me nothing I play has needed them yet.

Those tech specs look the same as the stuff pieced together from the shipping data 3 or 4 months ago, suspect those are just regurgitated from this reddit post rather than newly leaked or confirmed.
Hope we get something different. 256GB is not enough. But then it's Nintendo.
After all this time they must have a 3D Mario and Mario Kart game up their shelves. I'd play an up-to-date F Zero X and Starfox, loved these on N64.
They'd be silly not to revive F-Zero. Im thinking they can bring F-Zero as their 1st racer and then Mario Kart down the line. Surely they got their work cut for that with the content they've put out for MK8D.

I would assume they're able to scrape data from the current Switch userbase about storage utilisation to guide them into putting in an appropriate amount - if 95% of the current userbase data indicates they'd be sub 256GB on Switch 2, then sticking 512GB in all of them is just added wasted cost for most users and the 5% will put up with expandable storage when you can add another 256GB for £20 or 1TB for £75.

I do have a feeling a lot of people will ultimately be slightly disappointed when the Switch 2 finally drops officially and we find out the specs, as expectations are building for this to be something i'm not sure it realistically can be or Nintendo would want it to be. 4K 60fps etc. I just don't see being on the cards for a portable device like this that'll probably have a 1080p screen at best, even when it's docked and able to pull a bit more power.

True but come on, how much more does it cost? But most importantly some games incl Triple A games will probably be about 64gb at least.

Enough that across millions of consoles, you're better off not adding it if you don't think it's needed.

If they're expecting an average game to be 30-40GB (and bear in mind stuff like TOTK was only 18GB IIRC, so 30-40GB is probably generous for an average Switch 2 game), 256GB gives you 5 or 6 games worth of native storage, which will be plenty for casual players and people who want everything installed all the time can expand it to a size that suits them.

I suppose the question is really do they still want to produce games on carts or go digital only.

Nintendo is probably going to be the last to leave physical media behind as they have a bit more appeal and value (perceived or otherwise), and their numbers will show physical doing well. If at least half of your 30-40GB game is on a cartridge then 256GB goes that bit further.

I'm just hoping I can put my Switch SD card into the Switch 2 and just download any updates required to get the games working on the Switch 2. I have a fast 256GB SD card at the moment. I can always get a bigger one if required though.
