*** Nintendo Switch ***

I've traded in my Wii U and Wii stuff so the Switch, Zelda, charging grip and most of MK8 isn't costing me anything, I'm guessing Nintendo will port most of the good Wii U games anyway.

The Switch actually looks like the first Nintendo hardware since the N64 that doesn't look like it was designed by Fisher Price.

Nintendo just need to stop making so many boneheaded decisions.

But there is no way I'm missing out on a new Zelda or a proper sandbox Mario game.

Same here. The console itself is costing me very little. So I see it as an upgrade over my Wii U. Just want the Switch to succeed and for it therefore to get lots of titles I can enjoy. Maybe a new F-Zero if I am lucky. But it seems like Nintendo to want to get in the way of that with some of their decisions :p

For me from whats been confirmed to be in dev so far I want:

Mario Odyssey
Zelda
Sonic Mania
Bomberman
Mario Kart 8
ARMS
LEGO City Undercover
Splatoon 2
Dragonball Z Xenoverse
RIME
STEEP

Possibles:

Project Sonic 2017
FAST RMC
Fire Emblem
Street Fighter II
Snipperclips

That will do :p

Agreed. Bomberman is an amazing game, but only in local multiplayer. I've bought it 4 or 5 times over the years - starting with Eric and the Floaters (anyone remember that?!) to the the Saturn 10 player version (which was absolute madness and still the best version!). If you have a few mates who will buy a Switch, Bomberman, and regularly meet up, it will be worth buying a Switch just for that! If you're going to be playing it single player - it's almost a waste of money. But £50, that's insane.

Yeah if it's your only console I can see you wanting more but anything multiplat will be played on my PS4 Pro.

Indeed. I'm going to try and have 1 or 2 single player RPGs (like Mario/Zelda/RIME) on the go at a time couple with a good selection of multiplayer stuff.

My fiance works odd hours so I will get regular alone gaming time on it and when she is around we can play together then :)

Fire Emblem warriors gameplay video

Well, actual footage starts just under 1 minute in. This looks fun :)

I didn't say either way. I said "oh maybe they're doing it because of the battery" that was just a speculation. I've seen nothing officially stated with regards to the battery. Nobody has fed me that line. It was just a thought that came to mind, I posted it :p

A different perspective. It saves battery on the Switch when on the move.

Reads as a rather blind statement to me.

I get your hyped. I have been looking forward to this console also, just having a Nintendo handheld device which has greater display resolution than the 3DS gets me excited.

Some are having a harder time remaining optimistic about its future though. I am unsure what to think, I had a flutter of optimism yesterday when Reggie tweeted about the fear of lack of games and addressed that. But, then today we find it looks like they've fudged the multiplayer aspect.

High price of games and accessories, strange business decisions, including not to hold off the launch. It's testing times to remain positive.

I'm assuming the price of Bomberman (and many of the games) is just to rake in the early adopter dollars?

As above, I'd struggle to justify Bomberman for half it's cost.

Totally. Many a mediocre game has sold well by being a launch title! Not saying Bomberman is mediocre btw, far from it, but £50! And imagine how many will only be played single player. It's like buying all your tennis gear and playing against a brick wall.

I don't buy them at launch unless there is something special. I let the fools pay full price for their systems and games.

Why don't you just buy Zelda on the WiiU instead of buying and selling a whole console for the same game?

Few days later..

The pro controller price is mad, I'm glad I have my pre-order on Amazon.fr for EUR 59.99.

Thought you was not going to buy it and play Zelda on the Wii U? Not only did you buy the console , you ended up paying EUR 59.99 for a pro controller??? Too funny after what you said a few days ago :p:D

MK8D is now available for £45 on Amazon. Or £42 for Prime members.

Getting warm. Needs to drop to £39.99 so I can get it for £37.99 :D

Oh and I will also pick up Street Fighter II unless they price it silly.

Street Fighter II anyone? £59.99! :p

You might want to put on your reading glasses and then read the post you quoted properly. I am not paying anywhere near full price.

I'm paying EUR 274.99 for the console before I remove the 12% tax difference for this country, so EUR 242/£210

I was always going to buy one as I get all the consoles, but not at launch for £280/EUR 330.

Money is not an issue, the value proposition is. At £210 I am not paying anywhere near the £280 rrp that most people are.
