*** Nintendo Switch ***

Going from the games confirmed so far? How many of them do you look at and think, yep I want that.

For me its a pretty decent amount. :)

Me too, we need a good spread so it appeals broadly but personally I'm pretty sorted.

On launch in March I'll be playing Zelda primarily (providing it is good), have ordered 1-2 Switch as will be great with the family (is down to £35 now, £33 with Amazon Prime).

April has Arms and Mario Kart, not sure I'll pay full price for Arms, likely I'll pick up MK and wait for a sale for Arms, want to see the reviews.

Sonic Mania is confirmed for Spring, must get it.

Summer has Splatoon 2 coming, never had this for the Wii U but the reviews are very positive and could be fun, particularly if they've improved multiplayer.

Xmas will have Mario (hopefully if there are no delays), that's going to be an essential purchase.

I'm sure we'll have a load more stuff between now and Xmas and it will be interesting to see what they do with Virtual Console as there are a number of GameCube games I'd like to play again.

I'm paying EUR 274.99 for the console before I remove the 12% tax difference for this country. I am also getting Zelda on the Switch for EUR 54.99.

I was always going to buy one as I get all the consoles, but not at launch for £280/EUR 330.

For EUR 275/£235 I think it's worth getting at launch as I don't see it going below that price before Christmas.

Money is not an issue, the value proposition is.

Hey, I agree with what you are saying about the value proposition. But 60 Euros for the controller, or even 50 is not value IMO :)

Besides, I assume you knew you could get it for that price before you made that comment anyway, even if not, the roughly £40 saving you are making is not exactly the amount I would attribute to the difference between a clever/normal man and a fool :p

Also as I recall explaining to you that I had sold my Wii U a year ago and this was costing me very little to upgrade. But that was your reply. Not picking on you are anything. Just a bit of friendly banter. We all change our minds, you don't need to justify anything to me. Just was funny is all ;)

As we have an office in Geneva I might have to pick up my Switch from there and bring it back with me as checked luggage.

How do you remove the 12% tax? Or is it something only residents can do?

Order from Amazon in an EU country (.fr, .uk, .de) and get it delivered to Switzerland. They do everything for you :D

You're too late to get the Switch for EUR 275 as it is now at the standard price of EUR 330. You can still save 12% from that EUR 330 price or the £280 price on amazon UK though.

60 EUR is a great price when I can flip it for 130 EUR! I have pre ordered with all the accessories and will cancel what I don't want because Amazon's price guarantee deal encourages early pre-ordering.

I can always save 12% on orders, but Amazon.fr had a pricing error saving me a lot more so I put in the order.

Don't worry about offending me, I am not a delicate little ********* and I get to throw rocks at others precisely because I don't live in a glass house myself :p We're all good.

.

Either way that would mean I can get it for £250 no matter which way you convert it. Nice little saving that :)

Cheers!

Also if you're near Geneva we can meet for a beer when I'm next over!

Haha. Fair enough :D

Talk about flipping. I did pre-order more than one console myself. But if there is a possibility of getting a couple of games plus the Switch for £280, I will have paid what I was looking to originally pay so will have got value for money in the end myself :p:o:D

This, to me it seems like the releases are getting staggered nicely.

As men we all know the downsides of giving our full load too early on :p

...right? right guys?!

GUYS?!

:D

I think you're right, we'll start to hear more regarding the other big IP they have in the works over time, they want to keep interest past 2017.

We could have Metroid, Smash Bros., Pilot Wings, Kid Icarus, Mario Party, F-Zero, Pokemon (not my cup of tea), Star Fox, Kirby, Donkey Kong and Yoshi over the next few years.

Exactly. Reggie has hinted at a Metroid without confirming anything as well.

ooops, missed that! sorry!

It has to be Metroid! Question is - a 2D or hybrid like Other M, or a 3D Prime. I think most people want the latter, but a proper 2D return to form would be great too.

Zelda, Mario Kart 8 and Mario Odyssey so far.

Bomberman if it's cheap, Arms is just Wii boxing with robots.

Thats the real problem - I was looking forward to the switch but ive already got Mario Kart 8, i can buy zelda on the wii u and Odyssey is too far away. I like Bomberman too but not for £50.

Ill buy one when Mario comes out - but theres no point shelling out just now for me with a wii u.

Dear god...

Switch matchmaking and lobbies handled through phone app.

come on....who would be paying for there online service now.

Depends on the price, if it's £10 a year I would... although being Nintendo it'll probably be more expensive than Gold or PS+...

Shame on you dirty scalpers buying multiple Switch consoles! :p

I'll only be getting Zelda at launch, then likely FAST RMX and ARMS abit later. Difficult to justify buying mario kart 8 deluxe, but battle mode looks good and it'd be great to have portable... dammit!.

Good catch at that price!. Was it promotional offer through a third party? I didn't see any alerts of it ever being that price on Amazon.

For me Zelda will be my game for a couple of months (I'm not a fast gamer), I will get MK8 having not owned a Wii-U. Then I have Sonic Mania to look forward to!

I REALLY want bomberman, however I'm not paying 40+ for it.

Then hopefully we'll get another JRPG prior to the holidays which will get me in mario mode.
