*** Nintendo Switch ***

Why would it not be? It's Just SFIITHDR from 2008 with a balance patch.

Yes, and Nintendo will be putting up for pre-order on Amazon soon apparently £59.99!! :p:o:D

I can't complain, at least I get £2 discount from prime, so £57.99, which is a bargain!

Seriously though. They should be releasing that for no more than £9.99, but I bet it will be more than double that for some reason. I want it, but not paying more than a tenner :(

Haha, no me mate. If I was interested, I would have got it on PC anyway. But the point of it was some developers seem to already not be a fond of the Switch which is not good :(
.

Ha, I got the point, just felt like having a sly dig at Titanfall :p

Snipperclips is a brand new game and on the e-shop that will be £15...so SF...*shrugs* no idea. Maybe £15 or less.

Total lies imo

They are not bringing the big games like Battlefield etc because the Switch is simply not powerful enough.
Even the FIFA game is a hybrid and not just a direct port from PS4/xb1

I'm not bashing the Switch itself but EA and other big 3rd parties will soon disappear when they can't release their newest franchises and have to make Switch level games that might not sell enough.
It's the WiiU all over again in terms of 3rd party imo

I like the Switch and I own a WiiU but I wish it was at least as powerful as the standard ps4 or xb1 so it's not left to rot like the last console has

There's no such thing as a "direct port" as games aren't ported to or from Xbox One/PS4. That's not how development works.

Third party support is also not contingent on getting a specific set of games. It's literally just development of games from third parties. Just because it might not be powerful enough to run games like Battlefield doesn't mean that there isn't proper third party support happening.

My mistake, it seems I was remembering an IGN article that when re-reading have put a correction. They had it at 1080p but now say 900p.

Still, we still see XB1 games running 900p 30fps and people seem happy enough with that.

You know there's a lot more to visuals and required performance than simply resolution and frame rate? You can't just compare the frame rate and resolution of different games on different consoles as if it means anything.

That is true but then again, from what we've seem so far from Nintendo, I'm happy with the textures and draw distance in Zelda., Mario KArt, Splatoon 2 and ARMS

Without more titles to compare, it's hard to take either side. The BIG test of the switches capabilities will be Skyrim. As we can take that and stick it side by side with the competitors.

At this time, both sides of the argument know the same, which is next to nothing.

I'm a Nintendo fan, but I don't want my posts to come across as blind fanboyism (infact I skipped the Wii-U), its not that I'm actively defending Nintendo 'Just because'. All I (and other here) are trying to point out is that without actual proof, we shouldn't be quick to hate on something we've not touched. The throw the phrase 'laughably underpowered' when all we've seen are Zelda 900p 30fps and Mario Kart 1080p 60fps comes across to me as misinformed.

I'm sticking with my pre-order as I miss playing MK and I want zelda, so it makes sense to spend a little more on something new, rather than buy into a dead console. I hope there will be a good selection of fun indy and first party games to enjoy. For the sake of nintendo I hope we can see the switch cope with AAA (even if it needs another dock) however I won't lose sleep over it as AAA games I use my pc for. But again ,I'll understand fan resentment to Nintendo for feeling let down.

If Nintendo kill off the 3DS after a year or so and we get their full output both handheld and console. Then the system will do what I need it to do.

If they do commit to that and run with it then I think this console/handheld could be a huge success over the next 2-5 years.

At the moment it seems rushed with too little, too soon. But in a year we should know a lot more about where they're going with it.

Iirc, didn't the 3DS launch with a lack of titles as well?

I am hoping that the Switch is more of a successful handheld console, rather than home. It will be way to difficult for Ninty to compete with the likes of Sony and Microsoft on the home console market.

Indeed. The point being that the numbers for the Switch aren't that impressive, but nor are they all that relevant long-term.

The only games im interested in is zelda breath of the wild and xenoblade 2.
I will buy the wii u version of zelda, and maybe buy a switch once xenoblade 2 is out.
