*** Nintendo Switch ***

I'm going to bet money on it being something like an external graphics card and processor that the tablet piggy backs onto. So its the same console but gets a power boost for home gaming.

Backwards compatibility will be doable through the Nintendo store thingy they have.

Perhaps, but look at the image of the dock now at the top of NOA's twitter page: https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica

Doesn't look to have much meat to it, nor means of cooling...

Not entirely sure I'll go for one, but it's more interesting than anything else they've putout for a while.

They'll sell truckloads of em.

I'm in. Another Scorpio or Neo console would be boring as hell anyway. At least Nintendo tries to do something interesting other than trying to emulate what PCs have done for years. I love the Wii U game pad and this is just an evolution of that. As for 4k, are people really that bothered if it's not supported?

4K is a selling point to make console owners feel good about themselves. Graphically were not really there yet. 1080P on a nintendo system is more than adequate.

Jeez look at some of the Wii U games, imagine them with more GPU grunt. Yes please. MK8 with some decent AA :)

Hopefully this can make the big 2 the big 3. They've had it their own way for ages and its nice that Nintendo are trying something different rather than best graphics/moar 4k etc

Whats your beef?

The Wii U was a complete failure and this is just an evolution of that. Is it replacing the 3DS and the Wii U? if not it will cause confusion. I can't see people wanting to carry something that size around with them as well as their phone which case it gets left at home, and then you are left with a general console that can not compete with MS and Sony as I'm guessing the specs will not be great. They needed to come up with something different this isn't it.

It certainly looks interesting, would love to play a new 3D Mario and Zelda. It really depends whether these will be launch titles.

The console will live or die by what Nintendo can release for it as NBA and a five year old Skyrim wont sell systems.

It's a neat idea though
