*** Nintendo Switch ***

Full game demonstrations, the list of launch window titles, as well as launch date, product configuration and related specifics will be shown and announced prior to the March launch

Is it possible we might see different versions of it? A higher and lower specced machine maybe?

So what would you have them do then?

Nintendo should exit the hardware business.

They're either too arrogant to admit their console strategy of cheap hardware is wrong and/or unwilling to spend the money making a competitive piece of hardware.

Whatever the reason it's dragging them down.

Just go software only, lets see what a Mario & Zelda game can look like on hardware worthy of the franchises.

I doubt it. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a version with and without the docking station though, considering it functions without the dock just fine. That would only really be viable if the docking station providing extra grunt though.

The same but with a bit more AA and slightly higher resolution textures then? Greeeat, so revolutionary.

Hoorah. Thank god Nintendo are not just trying to win the teraflops race and continue to attempt different things with gaming. We already have 3 platforms doing the same thing.

Mario, Zelda etc don't need 4k or teraflops. It's all about the art style.

Tetra X1 is about 0.5Tflops, X2 is double it. Xbone is 1.3Tflops. I wonder how much memory t has. Surely has to be 8GB too to keep third party game parity.

1flops for Nintendo to play with is plenty in my opinion. Their art style more than makes up for it. It should also be enough for 3rd parts to make 720p ports of current-gen games. However, I still feel it'll be slightly more than 1tflops when docked. It should also have a more powerful CPU than the Jaguar based CPUs in the XBOX and PS4.

Yes we all know the strategy Nintendo is following.

Make cheap under powered hardware, include a gimmick and sell it at an inflated price point then rely on sales of Mario #463, Mario Kart #476 and Zelda #479 to keep the cash rolling in.

It didn't work with the WiiU and it won't work with this.

I will say I've always been put off by their reliance on continuously churning out Mario games (partly why I've never bought a Nintendo console) but I am hoping there will be enough innovation with this console to warrant a purchase.

I already have a PS3 and PS4 and have no interest in the Xbone (other than to play Gears of War 4, but not really worth it just for that).
