Indeed, this looks exactly what I'm after (and hopefully many others) so that Nintendo can get on with making great games again.
The brief glimpses of Mario looked like Mario 64 2, which is what I'm hoping for.
Well done Nintendo.
 
This is the kind of product that will sell exponentially well the more people own it. You could visit a mates house who's playing Monster Hunter. Join in his game on your handheld while he plays on the tv. Another mate joins in online from his house. Someone joins him via a handheld. You all go to the park to meet up and carry on playing. Then you do some grinding on the train to work. The more people that have a Switch the better the experience and the more incentive there is to have one. One thing that stuck me on holiday in Japan was the no. of people playing 3DS games together in public, it was pretty cool. A social thing. What we want (what I want at least) is a good portion of friends to have Switch and for it to sell by the bucket load. That will bring the 3rd party support and the era of flexible gaming anywhere.
 
I actually like the flexibility of it. Sure it doesn't have the grunt like the other two consoles but to allow you to play how you want it looks pretty cool. My brother has the Wii U and switching to the tablet to play his games when we wanted to watch TV without interrupting his gameplay was nice.

Looking at the vid, is the screen touch or normal? Didn't see anything hinting to being touch.

Moving from IBM/AMD to Nvidia is an interesting choice, Nintendo has been working with them for years. Could mean there may not be any backwards compatibility with the Wii U... unless it has enough grunt to emulate all that PowerPC instructions on the Tegra.
 
If those specs are true, I'm surprised at the 4K! :eek: - Didn't see that one coming.

Doesn't say if those are the specs within the tablet, the dock, or if the dock makes no difference etc.

Soon all will come to light.
 
Finally, the reason why I haven't bought an xbox or ps4 is lack of coop local.
This has nailed it.

I think I'm sold and gf is too. I may hold off on 3ds

Not bothered about 4k. I like retro games and care more about play mechanics

Just a thought, perhaps the 32GB is on the tablet while the dock section has say a 500GB drive in it and you just move titles from one to the other? As a high capacity drive to fit in the tablet would have to be an M.2 or something which would be really expensive.

I'd say that's pretty unlikely as if you have storage which is exclusively attached to the dock you're immediately breaking the whole premise of the device.

SD cards for expandable storage in the main unit seems more likely.
