Or you could just carry the cartridges for whatever games you want to play?
Realistically going backwards and forwards to work how many games do you need?![]()
I just can't see people want to carry around a handheld gaming device.
I see there are only two markets now.
Dedicated home console gaming.
Mobile phone gaming.
Can't see it working. I think the portable side will be underused.
Nintendo should just make a high powered home games console and get back to the olden days, instead of all these stupid quirky gimmicks.![]()
Looks great but no way will it be powerful enough for proper AAA 3rd party title support.
Nintendo need to throw all their 1st party line up into this from the bell.
So games we can make out from the video...
LOZ: BOTW
Skyrim Remastered
Mario Kart 8 (eShop wii U version)
NBA 2K17
Mario (looks like a new incarnation of mario 64?)
Splatoon (eShop wii u version)
I know this has probably already been responded to (the thread's too big!) but the biggest advantage for this generation is no separation between console and hand held.
All the great 3DS or WiiU type games will now be focused on this platform.
Third party support will be interesting. Can't see them being that keen to work on a different architecture unless the install base becomes large enough to be profitable.
.
It's been announced it'll be a 9series GPU. So better than your phone. You CAN'T run MK, Mario, Zelda on your phone.
Plus what is going to happen to pokemon on this!![]()
Very little chance it has backwards compatibility.
I kinda want one. I dont necessarily get truly portable with my handheld devices, but I do like to play them in bed or on the couch while others are watching something on TV. This would be a cool way to do that.
And as things will essentially combine the efforts of Nintendo's console and mobile teams, it should mean a whole lot more content. And should also be more attractive for 3rd party developers who essentially get to create a console and a handheld version of their game without any extra work.
Dont want to pay more than $300, though. At Day 1, I'd buy it. Otherwise I'll wait til it drops in price.
