*** Nintendo Switch ***

Not "super" excited, but I'll definitely buy one. One of the most interesting bits of the video for me was the multiplayer potential with other nearby switch users, if they make the setup / connection of this easy, I think it'll be a great thing.

I just can't see people want to carry around a handheld gaming device.

I see there are only two markets now.

Dedicated home console gaming.
Mobile phone gaming.

Can't see it working. I think the portable side will be underused.

I don't know, a quite a few of my friends bought a 3DS since they including myself got bored with mobile phone gaming. It feels more fun playing on the 3DS. I carry a bag and the new 3DS doesn't take that much room for me.

The Switch I'm not sure as it's significantly larger, if I do get it I'll probably end up using it more indoors than outdoors.

Man this is unbelievable. Absolutely love it! Gotta laugh at the haters. If you try to add a 'new' competitive console, even if it was the most powerful, people wouldn't drop everything and buy it. It's gotta offer something different to succeed. I'm so pleased Nintendo are doing something different again. Deffo onto a winner!

People take tablets (and large phones!) everywhere with them these days so I don't feel the size will be an issue personally. I'm not much of a handheld gamer myself but the convenience of it I still find appealing.

It took me almost a year to buy into the Wii U, I'll be pre-ordering the Switch asap though.

This thing is going to rock for holidays, playing in bed, playing when family are watching TV, playing lunchtime at work, trains, planes, bus, passenger entertaining long car journeys etc.

Looks great to me. Cannot wait, though my willingness to buy will be highly dependent on price. This is basically what the Wii U should have been.

Sales of 3DS have tanked since mobile gaming took off

3DS struggled to begin with, yes - largely due to mobile gaming taking off around that time, but it picked up and has sold consistently well since 2012.

It certainly would have been more popular without the mobile gaming boom but 3DS managed to be a success regardless, which is a big deal.

Looks great. Well designed and thought through....gotta get the games on it though. You don't buy Nintendo for third party titles..but they need Mario on it for sure.

Unless through next few months uncover something horrendous this will be a pre order I think.

Definitely getting one. Thought the wii-u had the best games this gen and my ps4 is nothing more than a Blu-ray player these days. This and the PC should cover most angles, just hope the price is no more than £250.

I don't hate that **** will kill you, I just don't see the point.

Its a strange concept that's for sure?

I could make Nintendo millions!
If you not bothered about graphics and into game play why not make a....

All in one wire free virtual reality Wii headset.

There you go not hard is it! :D

Nintendo made some great games for the Wii U, but didn't get the audience. I can see why they would want another platform with similar performance to increase their ROI.

Like with most Nintendo consoles I'll probably wait until it has a decent back catalogue and then jump in.

Love the trailer and look of it, it may finally do what remote play has wanted to and nvidia shield, just need a price now!

Do worry that screen will get easily marked going in and out of the dock though
