*** Nintendo Switch ***

I've read that the Switch is more powerful than the Wii-U but less powerful than an Xbox One...

Not that I give a flying monkeys anyway. I saw one up close today. I think its a technological feat, personally.

I would have preferred they went with the more beefy pascal x2. That said now that I have it I am very happy with it. Faster than Wii U in such form factor is impressive enough for me. Can't wait for the Mario game in November :D

Saw an article where people to prevent scratching their switch, they use a USB C extension cable on the USB C port inside the dock.

They say it works perfectly but the only issue is it can be difficult getting the extension/female end on the USB C end within the dock because of how little space there is

What big releases are coming in the next 3-6 months?

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
RIME
Mario Odyssey
ARMS
Skyrim
Project Sonic 2017
Xenoblade 2

There are others but I am in a rush and was trying to think of graphically challenging games off the top of my head

Cheers!

Had a look at RIME and that is a multi-platform game across PS4, XB1 and the switch. Will be interesting to see what the technical difference is between the Switch and the other's versions. If we see completely different games I'll find that somewhat disappointing. However, if the switch ran at 720p and low detail compared to high 1080p of the others (not sure they actually do this) then that is really quite exciting.

Cpu die scan over at Neogaf.
So it has 3x A57's @ 1ghz for games. I do wonder about the legs of this thing to be honest.

Shame a deal with Apple couldn't be done with some A10x monster, one can dream :p

After playing Zelda, I'm really not worried... It's such a beautiful game and really all you need from a console, while also balancing battery life and cost of a portable. I'm still shocked what they've achieved with Zelda with what it's running.

Despite owning a 1080 in my PC, I'd say I still spend most of my time playing games that don't touch the sides of it.

I wish they'd sort the rights out to Goldeneye, could you imagine that on the VC? I've still got my N64 and the game in the loft, but i'd love it on the Switch!

When the VC finally comes out, get the old school classics and some of the top Gamecube games and you've got a catalogue of games that will last a very long time, and on the move no less.

Add the likes of Mario, MK8, Minecraft into the mix and it's happy days.

They need to show more games in the eshop for upcoming stuff. I am 100% sure they are hiding something big for E3.
Also start killing off the 3ds, a new Monster Hunter alone would sell countless switches.
Oh and hurry with Pikmin 4

People complaining about the consoles hardware and worrying about it , have they even played Zelda ? This would be impressive on any platform let alone one that you can take on the move , it really is a staggering achievement in gaming imo , the level of detail in a game world of this size and scope is just unbelievable , everyday you find new things and new little touches that you never knew you could do . Hats off to Nintendo on this one. Hands down the best experience I've had in single player since tlou. And I haven't even touched the surface of this either (only
Unlocked 2 towers haha) just love exploring

The campaign is so dated now I feel its best left as a fun memory. Multiplayer would be sweet though.

Perfect Dark stands the test of time a little better.

Are any of you actually going to buy Skyrim? Fair enough if you haven't played it at all yet but i imagine it's hard to find people who haven't played it ( could be wrong of course!)

Not one for me, tried it a load of times on pc and just find it to be rather over rated imo

For £60 probably not. If its keenly priced I'll pick it up.

Picked up mine tonight. Only booted up to setup my account, update and start the Zelda download. The quality seems good, the screen better than the resolution suggests and the menu system all seems well thought out. I'm not entirely convinced by the joycons in the grip, but time will tell. No dead or stuck pixels, yet to test left joycon. The dock whilst minimalist certainly doesn't seem cheap. If the dock was weighted at the base, most people wouldn't even comment on it. The only thing I'm disappointed with is the internet connection and download speeds. Mines nothing like my 6s for instance. On the system test I managed 23mbps. This is on 70mb virgin less than 10ft from the router. Lowest I've seen on anything else this close is 68mb. I often get up to 75mb. 15-20ft away in another room with the door open and virtually no signal.

All 4 that I've received have got issues in one way or another.

I think anyone thinking that theirs is perfect just hasn't looked close enough.

No one has ever denied that I'm anally retentive, and mine is perfect.

Except for the left joycon design flaw that is. Everyone will have that.

For the record I read some of people's complaints and checked ours.

The kick stand actually takes a lot of force to pull out and I've really gotta get my finger nail under it. It then clicks back into place firmly. No issues.

Screen is spotless. No dead pixels or anything.
Wiggled joycons. No movement when attached. Perfectly fine.

Dock hasn't marked my screen.

Obviously some people have had issues but ours is 100% fine.
