Agreed. What i'm interested in is whether the Switch will end up home to a tonne of pick up and play handheld style games and the occasional big hitter from Nintendo, or whether it will get a decent selection of meaty home console titles too. The former is great, but a lot of people want Metroid, F-Zero etc etc as they're what made Nintendo the name they are today. I don't see it getting good aaa 3rd party support fullstop, but would love to be proven wrong.
Honestly I don't mind if they aren't able to get the next big AAA title from a 3rd party developer, I think the ideal situation is to have an Xbone/PS4 + a Switch, you won't really miss out on much that way. For me I've got a gaming PC and PS4 so that takes care of a lot already, I've always been a big fan of Nintendo games but been unhappy with how they've been doing the home console for so long I've not bothered.
If Nintendo can get the 3DS and WiiU developers consolidated onto one platform then it's going to be a guaranteed runaway success. I'm looking forward to the first Pokemon game on decent hardware and it will be playable on a home TV too.
Always wondered why they haven't already, you just know if they released a beast Pokemon game it will clear up.. it's the one frustrating thing about Nintendo, the most simple and logical things seem to be ignored to do obscure things. Why keep releasing it on portable console when your home consoles could do something incredible, at least we can finally hold out hope they make an awesome Pokemon game for the Switch.
