**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

If I can't buy it from OcUK I am not interested.:)

An honourable man indeed.

Oh and for folks who still have DVI monitors (why would you even use this beast of a card on such limited video bandwidth), some models like the Asus Turbo will have built in DVI ports and some models may have Displayport to DVI adaptors in the box, much like the Founder's Edition will include that adaptor in the box. So you can enjoy this GPU too if you want.

Though 2560 × 1600 at 60 Hz is the max you can do in DVI, and that's with dual-link DVI. With regular DVI, you're limited to 1080p60. So to me, it makes sense for Nvidia to start phasing it out on cards so powerful. Who would use this GPU for only 1080p60?

I thought that nVidia previously said that 980ti upgraders would be first in line for the 1080ti?

Is this still the case?
Nvidia didn't say it, someone took a screenshot of a job description on linked in and after it had been passed around the internet thousands of times everyone ended up believing Nvidia had said it....

Some folks were even discussing how they would claim the offer as if it had been officially announced lol

guys, honestly though is there anyone thinking that a 1080ti is a worthy upgrade from the 1080?

put aside the bragging rights the itch and the enthusiasts who will no doubt get the 1080ti for those reasons, the average Joe who owns a 1080, will he get the 1080ti, I mean at most it will be between 20-50 fps increase or maybe a bit more, nothing that the naked eye can differentiate, so will you sell your 1080 at a loss add another 250-300 quid and get your prize?

When your 144/165hz monitor isn't stretching it's legs to full capacity, and you really love high refresh rates on ultra settings, yes the Ti is Absolutely worth the upgrade.

Gibbo has already said the only thing he is allowed to say is the 1080ti is coming. Nvidia have gagged all the retailers while they cream off all the full price pre-orders

I think waiting for the retailers to get stock could actually be to peoples benefit as in the next few days we should be able to see what the AIB partners are doing with non reference cards.

I don't see the rush to pre-order with nvidia directly, surely ocuk will have it available to pre-order before release day, so you end up with the product the same day anyway.

You have a valid point, however, things need perspective. I play many games and frames are decent on my Gigabyte G1 1080 at 1440P but I still do get dips into 40s or even lower in some games (depending on settings of course). With a 1080Ti, it will allow me to have those extra settings and keep frames at a decent level. Not really a necessity but a nice thing to have. I also have a fund where I put money by from time to time to buy PC components and I work bloody hard for my money, so why shouldn't I or others buy what we like for our harmless enjoyment?

Does anyone know if a 1080 block will fit?

Currently have two MTXs and I'm fed up of SLI so I'm most certainly going to be buying a 1080 Ti, however I want it to go into my loop.
