I think most of the Titan blocks have sold out over the last few days to people who are getting the 1080 Ti.

Having said that I think OcUK will be getting plenty more for the same reason.

Yep, that one. They were in stock yesterday but the water coolers bought them up in readiness for the 1080Ti FE card :)

You have a valid point, however, things need perspective. I play many games and frames are decent on my Gigabyte G1 1080 at 1440P but I still do get dips into 40s or even lower in some games (depending on settings of course). With a 1080Ti, it will allow me to have those extra settings and keep frames at a decent level. Not really a necessity but a nice thing to have. I also have a fund where I put money by from time to time to buy PC components and I work bloody hard for my money, so why shouldn't I or others buy what we like for our harmless enjoyment?

Things dont need perspective it depends on your perspective. Like you said you dont NEED a 1080ti to play all the games at ultra settings a 1080 copes nicely. There will always be people that want the latest and fastest and chase FPS but then there are people who dont. A new card is like a red rag to a bull if you are an OC enthusiast. People who say its not worth the upgrade are probably right it cant be dismissed out of hand with today's prices. If you want one fine, if you dont thats fine. People go through phases. I longed at the hardware but couldnt afford it, after time I could afford it and was on the upgrade merry go round, now I`m a bit older I dont see the point of buying a card for £600, then when a slightly faster card comes out for £650++++ less than a year later after I bought the former I dont see the point in the upgrade. Thats £1250 no matter what way you look at it. That is stupid money. Gregster may not think it now but there will come a time when you may think the same.

Well I am 46, have 2 girls who both work now, married for 23 years and not long left on my mortgage but I have been at the other end of the scale and had to go without, so it is mine and my wifes turn to treat ourselves.

You don't need to justify your purchase mate to anyone.

I can afford two 1080ti if I want....I just don't game enough to warrant one 1080ti sitting idle in my gaming PC until the autumn when the nights draw in and I start gaming again...

I too have been on the other end of the scale so can understand the "sober view" evaluation of purchases thoroughly...

If you want it...have it....If you don't see value in it then don't buy it....

It amazes me that people in here seem to think we care what their opinions are when it comes to our income and funds...

I care about opinion if its it harmless banter and fun, Educational, Helpful to the community, entertaining....But people constantly moaning about what others spend on his DULL as DISHWATER....

By all means moan about pricing but not about what others spend their hard earned cash on.....
