**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

I was watching a video with Tom Peterson from Nvidia not long ago on PCPER's YouTube channel and he said voltage outside of what is set out of the box can have a drastic effect on the lifespan of the card, Bringing the lifespan from just say 10+ years down to 1 year.

Is this the reason MSI Afterburner has no voltage control for 1080 Ti cards out of the box ?

Which one of these two cards would you recommend, I would normally go for EVGA but liking what i'm reading about the Zotac and the fact that OCUK deal with the first three years of the warranty

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,440.48
(includes shipping: £10.50)

Zotac for sure. Quietest and coolest Ti I've tried so far and the cooler is huge even compared to the EVGA FTW3.

It seems abit OTT to me tbh. +100mv is all you get but he said increasing it by this much reduced it from 5+ years to around 1. ohh btw you said 10+ you sure it was not 5? I remember him saying at least 5 years expectancy.
I can't see how it will reduce it that much if he said from 5+ years give or take to around 3 then that would sound plausible.

But tbh thats how long id expect to have my 1080Ti for around 3years before upgrading.

I'm guessing an extreme amount maybe? But as stated 1.05v to 1.093v is not much at all.

I'm sure if it was going to have that much of an effect it would have been locked fully, rather than just unlockable in afterburner.

Almost makes me wish I was getting a 1080 ti now instead of back in April. Destiny looks a lot better than both previous offerings combined. Played Wildlands for a little bit but it got boring really fast and For Honor just didn't excite me at all.
