**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

If AMD launch a 1080 beating card for £500, Nvidia wont be able to charge £800+ for the 1080Ti.

Why? what's stopping Nvidia charging £800 plus? They have already seen that people will pay that price.

Plummet? Depends on your definition. As I mentioned earlier, some people predicted (or rather wanted) the 980Ti to be a £200 second hand GPU last year when the 1070/1080 were released... it STILL isn't lol! Yes prices always fall, but I'd be interested to know what you expect second hand 1080's to be going for in a month's time when the 1080Ti is out?

The reason the 980ti's didn't drop as much as they should have was because Brexit caused the prices of the 1070 to be higher than it should have been. You keep mentioning the £200 like everyone expected them to drop that far, all that discussion at the time came from one person's bid on the MM here.

Because the 1080ti is only going to be 20% faster than a 1080 so if AMD have Vega at say 5 to 10% faster than a 1080 for less money then unless you are a die hard Nvidia fan you wont pay £300+ more for another 10% performance.

Agreed if 1070s had been £300 then second hand 980tis would have been £200 to £250 max.

Lmao Nvidia really milking it again. Only founders editions to be bought for the first month. Guess people will be waiting 7 montsh for their EVGA and Asus cards again? oh dear. AIB are soon going to stop making Nvidia cards at this rate.

Wise? When did that have anything to do with buying top end GPU's?

As I've said previously, I'll happily sell the 1080 at a loss if the 1080ti feels worth it (which isn't guaranteed in my book BTW).

Doubt it. Well perhaps their founders edition. We will have to wait and see how ludicrous the proper EVGA and Asus cards are.

thats pretty much it, with them being first and stocks like the 1080, expect it to be close to a Titan, prob why they increased the pricing a little on it

When Volta comes along I'm sure the pound will be in a better state as well so better pricing too hopefully Valve will have released at least one damn game using Source 2 (from the ground up) by then. I bet the Volta xx70 or whatever will be pretty beastly for the cost.

Can't see the point of 1080Ti when Volta will drop in about 6-8 months time.

Possibly 12nm fab with HBM2 memory. That will probably convince me to ditch my Maxwell 2 Titan X SLI

You do realize that as we go through leaving the EU the pound is forecast to become almost parity with the the dollar? I cant see us getting back to the rate of $1.45 to pound for a decade or so.

Source? All the roadmaps I have seen show Volta as 2018. All that is due later this year is a pascal refresh so 1080s with faster clocks - the 2080Ti, 2080 and 2070.
