do they look ok or shall i go higher on the memory? i have the kfa2 soc 980

Try +500 of mem then run a couple of benchmarks... see what happens :P

Ta. thanks for the curve. Idling at 40c stock and thought this was high, but it seems not.

40 is good :)

Well my GPU is on it's way back to OCUK for a full refund, not sure which one to get though, not going for the SOC again :(
I went for the EVGA SC card in the end.
It runs much quieter and cooler than the SOC I had :)
With a custom fan profile, it idles at around 28-30C with fans stopped and into the 60's under load

what was wrong with yours neil? could you shed any light on my settings since you previously had the same card as me?

Fan ticking noise which increases at high RPM, unbalanced fan bearing, plus bad coil whine.

I've just had an RMA authorised for mine too. Not sure what to go with either.

What was wrong with yours? I think you mentioned temps but I can't remember

Very nice, I'd like to order one now but without a refund from OCUK it's risky :(

This is what I'm running at the moment.

My memory is Hynix, but it's running fine at 4000Mhz

Still need to see what the core and memory are going to top out at.

Then I will look into a custom bios. At the moment the stock one is doing pretty good!

Is there no way of adding more voltage to the memory as I can't find a setting for that, only the core?

;)

Glad I ordered mine when I did! :D

I've ordered from EK direct, £33 delivered. Grr

I've ordered the block itself from OCUK, so should have everything ready to fit by the end of next week.

I don't want to stray too far off topic here, but I did post in the WC section without any reply yet...

I'm looking for some rubber O-rings for Monsoon fittings, 13/10 chrome. Do any of you have any idea where I can source them? I've chopped and changed my loop so often and re-used the O-rings a couple of times, and I think I really need to get them changed out as no doubt they will degrade with each tighten and loosening.

I could probably pick something up from the plumbers merchant, but I'm unsure what to ask for. Even if one of you had a bag of them lying around, I'd be happy to PayPal you the cost to pop them in an envelope?

I'd recommend the reference card (the one with the pseudo Titan cooler).

I had a play with one (recommended the 970 version to my brother, pre-ramgate), and it's a most excellent cooler. The card overclocked like a demon as well.

I'm going for the OcUK reference design as I had the 970 OcUK reference design, not only was it cool (28c idle and a 71c load), it was very quiet.

Also those temps were the top card in SLI and with an over clock of +100 & +200.

Hoping for round about the same this time.

So that's a choice of

EVGA 980 GTX
OcUK ref 980 GTX

Get the cheaper OCUK version, it will clock to and well beyond the EVGA version.

You also left out the MSI version, but that's £10 more than the OCUK brand for the same clocks out of the box. :p
